Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Peterborough

I'm getting very frustrated with this location. I have gone here 3 times in the last month and each time something was missing. First was for my son's birthday cake. It was ordered a week in advance and when I went to pick it up the had completely forgotten to make the cake entirely 😡. They did however give us a generic cake for free to make up for the mistake but in my opinion it was unacceptable and did not make up for messing up the simple task of taking and order. Last week I went through the drive through and asked for a Royal Reese Blizzard. I started eating it halfway home and realized they gave me something else (think it was a KitKat Blizzard). Now today (May 24th 2021)a similar situation. I ordered a royal Oreo Blizzard for my son through the drive through and he was heart broken to see that the had completely forgotten to put the fudge in the middle. I pay premium $$$ for these royal blizzards and I get ripped off and I'm not about to wait in line in the drive through to bring up the issue.. Well this was the last straw for this location. I'm officially boycotting you guys and telling everyone I know not to visit your location. I highly recommend anyone reading this do the same if you don't want to get ripped off or get your order screwed up. You've taken my $$$ for the last time. I have worked in the food/customer service industry before and this is NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!!!! Good bye and good riddance. EDIT Over time I am noticing a downward trend in cleanliness at this location as well as a lack of maintenance. A Garbage can that is missing a leg is sitting lopsided and propped up with a small piece of wood (see photo). There is also a few tiles missing and have not been replaced. It is also VERY evident that there is a lack of cleaning at this location as I am seeing some of the same food and dust on the floors under booths and behind signs as well as ice cream splatters on the seats that I saw a few weeks prior at my last visit. If the staff can't clean the front of the house it makes me question how well things are being cleaned behind the counter in the kitchen. As Peterborough has many people visiting the city especially in the summer and likely bringing the family in for cool treats it's very embarrassing that this is what they are seeing during their visit to our lovely town. Updated: Taking my rating from a 3 star down to a 1 star after my mom told me that the last time we were here, she went up to the front to show them that she had barely any topping in her blizzard, especially compared to mine. There was an obvious huge difference. The older cashier (referenced below) told her she couldn't do anything about it but she could have some extra Oreo topping. (my mom didn't have an Oreo blizzard and doesn't even like Oreo!). The staff then held out a handful of crushed oreos in her bare hand and gave them to my mom like that! I've never heard of anything so unprofessional or unsanitary in my life!

Today we went to the DQ next door to Lansdowne Place and the experience is 10 x's better there! The staff is professional, nice, helpful, efficient and knowledgeable. Which they definitely are not at this location the last 2 times I've been here. They also offer table service and condiment bottles on each table which are nice bonuses that make the fast food experience that much better. I won't be coming back to this location again that's for sure. I'll be going to the other one for a way better experience.

Review: Food is good but I was not impressed with how I was treated this afternoon when I went for a late lunch. The staff were being so unprofessional by goofing off, teasing each other, yelling back and forth and singing loudly. Made for an unpleasant experience eating there. The older cashier was especially obnoxious, unprofessional, unfriendly and messed up my order on top of it. When I brought her error to her attention she didn't apologize and complained about having to fix it. And surprisingly, it seemed like she was the one in charge of the rest of the staff. The restaurant and washrooms were clean and tidy which was nice in a fast food place and the Christmas carols were a nice touch. Need more knowledgable, responsible and professional staff (especially managers) to make it a more enjoyable experience...

I am a regular customer and had minor problems in the past that have been upsetting but nothing to complain about. I have absolutely had enough with the poop service! The staff except for 3 I’ve noticed who truly care about there job one is a cook another being a cashier and your greatest employee I’ve particularly asked her name! She’s a youth manager named Heaven! Best employee you have very caring and polite! 3 of my past 5 orders have been a complete mess and with great regret of something does not happen or I’m not reimbursed for the terrible service I will be letting everyone I know about the situation going on! I will be going as far as reporting this to our local news paper! I’m looking forward to hearing from you and what you can do to help with this continuing...
