Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay! We couldn't enjoy the sitting area at the back of the property that is at the river due to a rain storm that moved in as we got to our room, but I would recommend it! Everywhere was clean. Check in was smooth, front desk staff was friendly and helpful. We were able to get a king bed room on the top floor as requested, even without a reservation. Room was clean, large, comfortable and well equipped. Bed was fine, not the comfiest I have had, but better than a lot I have had too. Room had microwave, fridge, coffee maker, hairdryer and great towels! We did not swim but pool was open and looked nice. Saw gym, but didn't have time to use. We slept ok, hotel was quiet (big plus for me), once neighbouring rooms finished arriving back to their rooms (why does everyone let their doors slam??). Air conditioner unit was a little loud but I was pleased that it worked, so not really a complaint. Breakfast was good, they offer one hot item, which is an unknown until you arrive at the breakfast room. We had western wraps, also had cereals, baked goods, yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee and tea. Staff working in there were friendly and all was clean. You can overlook the river while having breakfast, we went for a stroll by the river after eating. We were quaintly followed by ducks. Also saw seagulls, a bunny and squirrels. There is a gazebo with chairs as well. Had no issues with WiFi or TV. Would have liked to be able to plug in our phones somewhere like a lamp or clock. All in all, I am very pleased with this facility and would recommend it. Will stay here again if in the area. Thank you!

This is our family's favourite hotel. Check in and out were quick, friendly and easy. The pool is great and the complimentary breakfast is one of the best! We have stayed here several times, in different rooms. We enjoyed the festive decor in the lobby. This time, we were in room 217, which boasts a King bed, 2 sleeper sofas, a fireplace and spa tub. The room was spacious and had a nice view of the frozen water. The King bed was comfy and the room was clean. The only hang-ups about this room and stay in particular were: 1. The ceiling florescent light (which had a cracked corner), flickered so badly, that I shut it off and opted to use the floor lamps. 2. The AC unit rattles and is competing for "most annoying sound in the room award" against the bar fridge. Our family took a vote, the fridge won. It had a grumbling sound that just wouldn't quit! These noises made sleep difficult for everyone, but especially for our daughter, who had to sleep between the two. 3. We moved a table to sit together in the dining room for our delicious complimentary breakfast, but the bottom was so sticky on the floor, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time, under that particular table (everywhere else looked good). We will most definitely stay here again, just not in room 217.

Best Western in Peterborough is an average hotel that is in good condition. There is ample parking and it's easy to get to. Rooms are well kept and tidy. The lock cards screw up occasionally and the wifi expires daily. There is a very difficult time to get to the front desk from your room. There is no number and you have to go down to the front desk for things like towels etc. They will bring them up but it's still a hassle. Nothing in your room tells you about the number. The pool is ok but not staffed. There is a bit of a smell near the female change room. This is quite off putting. Change rooms are not kept well and there are towels everywhere. The hot tub was dirty. The morning breakfast is not a feature. It's a travesty. The hot breakfast is awful. The eggs have gluten in it so I wonder just how much filler is used. The sausage is also be mystery meat. Juices are not real. The tea was fine, staff were great and it was clean. I would not come back to this hotel. We only stayed as it was rated higher than the others we were looking for. The hotel we wanted to go to was already booked. We do stay at other Best Western's but this one we would pass if we can the next time.

I would not recommend coming to this location, Me and my boyfriend booked a room through their official website on October 28th. When we booked the room we saw the image of their whirlpool room and a king bed so we figured that was what we were paying for and would be expecting to get. We travelled all the way from Durham Region as it was the only hotel with the advertised whirlpool tub. At the time it was advertised as a jetted tub and unknown to us there was a Whirlpool, and Jetted Tub room. Now that is not the problem what isn't good ethical business practices is the fact that the pictures that were listed on the Whirlpool room was the same as the jetted tub room.

Upon arrival we checked in and went to the room and immediately noticed the room was not at all what was advertised. We spoke to the receptionist and he assured us that he couldn't do anything and that we would have to speak with the manager the following morning. The next morning rolls around and we checkout and bring up the fact that the room was being falsely advertised. We brought up our concerns and explained the situation and how we didn't agree that it was fair or just. They deflected the issue and tried to accuse that the issue was not made in their error. The manager caught wind of this and said it was due to using a mirror site of Best Western or another booking travel agency website. However this was not the case as we booked our room directly through the official Best Western website and the rooms were and still are being falsely advertised.

The gallery of pictures being displayed for each room has multiple totally different rooms being advertised. That we can understand as I'm sure the rooms can and do look vastly different to one other. It is unacceptable that we came all the way from Durham for a room that was displayed and advertised as having the Whirlpool tub but did not come close. We don't recommend and are very disappointed that we were misled and did not get the room that we paid for and no effort to make it right. 0/10.

For what its worth they did take off $15 really wasn't much for their error and misleading us but thought I would throw that in.

update :we would like to thank best western for reaching out and giving a travel card however still very dissatisfied with the amount we have received. We were given a $50 voucher from a big hotel chain known across the world and making millions and all they could send was $50. As a hotel the easiest way and the more respectful way would’ve been to give the value of the hotel room that we were misled on so we can have future endeavours to this location and been able to go into a room that we thought we...

Where Do I Begin... Absolutely Amazing! - I did quite a bit of research on hotels in the Peterborough area before making a reservation & I have to say I definitely made the right choice! All the reviews definitely lived up to my expectations!

From the moment you drive onto the property and walk into the lobby, you can immediately see, smell and feel how clean and well-maintained this place is - I was told this location is privately owned by an older couple (I believe) and that is why it is so well-kept over mainstream chains - Sparking Clean - From the Lobby to your room - Just immaculate!

Beds & Pillows were very comfortable!

A/C was working great!

Shower/Water Pressure - Perfect!

Overall, felt very safe and sound sleeping at this hotel.

Lobby has a 24/7 coffee (and other hot beverages) machine & a purified water dispenser which was a wonderful added touch and very useful for me.

Pool was very clean - Spotless & Heated! - Hot Tub was great too but very small in size - I wouldnt feel too comfortable if someone else was in there with me tbh lol !

Breakfast was nice and fresh!

And last but certainly not least — the Customer Service: Truly exceptional! I want to take a moment to highlight one individual in particular — TARA, the afternoon/evening front desk associate. From the moment I walked in, she greeted me with genuine warmth and professionalism.

Tara went above and beyond for me — whether it was answering questions, assisting with requests, or simply making sure I felt welcome and looked after when I stuck in a certain situation. Her positive energy, attention to detail, and willingness to help did not go unnoticed.

TARA — thank you so very much! You made a lasting impression and truly elevated my experience as a guest. Your dedication and hospitality are what define excellent customer service. It was an absolute pleasure to be on the receiving end of your care! Hope to see you again!

I was so sad to check-out and leave this place but I will definitely be back...

We showed up to the Hotel at about 3am and it was after a wedding. I had forgotten my wallet back in the car at the wedding and was hoping they would accept us in with me knowing the credit card number off by heart. No such luck. I then asked if they could at the very least let my wife into the room to sleep while I hop in the cab they just ordered for me. They said no. I wasn't super pleased with that, but understood. I went and got my wallet and they then checked us in. The front desk clerk was very nice about it though. And after getting into the room and settled, we wanted some drinks and snacks to prevent a terrible hangover. The machine refused to take my card or cash and so I went downstairs and went to to other machines before the front desk clerk offered to exchange all my money and provide some coins. He also suggested since we had not gone to bed yet, that we call around 8 to ask for late check out. That was nice. We finally got our drinks and snacks and went to bed. The shower was nice, and the soap was fragrant but not too potent. Very nice. There was a little bit of a rattle to the A/C, but nothing I couldn't sleep through. But when I went down to get myself some breakfast, this is where they lost a star. The staff were very friendly, but I couldn't eat anything. The croissant tasted like oil, and the muffins like baking soda. There wasn't really anything else that was all that appetising and there was only one hot option and I'm not one for westerns so, I didn't eat and had to go get the car and get something from the drive thru. All in all a pleasant enough stay, but I was hoping for SOMETHING to eat in the morning. It really wasn't good. But that's about the only thing I could complain about. I might try the Motel 6 across the street if it's cheaper. This wasn't worth the price...
