I Love Kawartha Dairy I always get my milk & cream from the drive thru. Today, because my van had a flat, I took my scooter and had my daughter with me. There was no one in the drive thru when I pulled my scooter up and waited for a voice to say what can I get ya we sat for a bit and then I said hello and then I was told they couldn't serve me in the drive thru because I needed to have a motorized vehicle. I said I am on a motorized scooter, I was told to pull up to the window so they could explain. I said well why not just get my milk and cream and tell then. I drove up to the window and we had more discussion while my girl and I sat in the full sun. They told me to go back out of the drive thru and park in the front so I did thinking all the while why did they make it so complicated it would have been quicker easier and safer for them to just serve me at the drive thru. They came out the front door as I waited with me girl in the sun and they bag was dropped by the door as they, one person, came to the scooter with the debit machine. Then went back to get the bag of milk but figured they had to point out a sign and asked me if I would like to come read it and I said I didn't need to I had learned my lesson just give me my stuff so I can leave it's hot and it had already taken a lot longer than it should have. I was told how I held up there drive thru and I said as I drove away that they held up there drive thru trying to explain to me how it wasn't safe for me to go through the drive thru on a scooter and I just said they held it up themselves by not just giving me my order in the drive thru. There was no one there when I 1st got there and if they just served me right away I would have been out of there before the next car had came. It would have saved us all some time and would have been easier on my body. No one would've been hurt at all, I was hurt as stress and tension trigger more pain by aggravating the arthritis in my neck. Not a nice experince at all. Things in my life already hard enough and I know I am not the only one and that is the only reason I am sharing my experience today. If people have a physical disability and need a scooter and use a drive thru when it is not busy where is the harm in that. There's harm in having a debate with them in the drive thru on a scortching hot day and treating them like they're stupid when they got a physical disability. I wouldn't have gone at all but we needed it. There sign said no walk or bikes it did not say...
Read moreIf I could rate this ice cream parlour on service and quality, the service would receive a zero and the ice-cream would receive a five. The ice cream is delicious and at a good price. The unfortunate reality of this location is the staff's customer service abilities. I have been on multiple occasions an hour or so before close and the chairs are all lined up to close off the tables so it is implied that no one should sit there. I have never been able to experience the hot fudge that is apparently available, as the machine is always "turned off for the night". One time I went they told me to throw out my garbage before I left, while I was eating .. which I thought was implied, but found her tone very rude and unfriendly. I feel very unwelcome when I go into this public place and feel as though I should not be there and am doing something wrong. They never greet you upon entrance and seem annoyed that you want to keep them in business by being a customer at this location. I have also found that the portions that customers receive are very uneven and sometimes half the cup. Again the ice cream is great and we love to support local joints, but something needs to be done about the customer service at...
Read moreKawartha Dairy in Peterborough is an essential summer destination, especially for ice cream lovers. Every visit is a treat, and the quality of their ice cream is truly unmatched. On our most recent trip, I opted for a grape and banana-flavored cone served in a waffle cone, and it was absolutely delicious. The combination of flavors was unique and refreshing, with the perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess that makes each bite enjoyable. The portions are impressively large, ensuring you get great value for your money.
