Rapids End Coffee Roastery — Restaurant in Peterborough

I had the pleasure of visiting Rapids End for the first time yesterday, and wow - am I ever glad that I did! I was greeted warmly by Daniel who could not have been more friendly or helpful in listening carefully to my needs and then patiently helping me to work through the issues I was having with pulling good espresso shots at home. Obviously passionate about what he does, Daniel quickly helped me to understand the differences between various beans and roast levels, and even some of the science behind the beans and the process of pulling a good shot (with a special shout-out to Megan - a fellow customer who was also kind enough to give me some great advice). Daniel was quick to offer me a complimentary espresso so I could sample the delicious North Boy beans before ultimately settling on a pound of the Otonabean to take home in a gorgeous new Rapids End Airscape. After close to 30 unsuccessful shots using grocery store beans (from a well known brand), I was able to dial in a rich, velevety espresso with the Otonabean in just 3 shots. We first stumbled across this brand on a trip through Peterborough. We stopped at the Silver Bean Cafe and ordered two cappuccino's. The beans were so good used to make the drink we caught a sign that said that Rapids End was the supplier in Peterborough. Always looking for a great coffee bean as lovers of lattes, cappuccino's and espresso's this one hit the mark for us. We made the trip up to Peterborough and met Daniel for the first time. He was extremely welcoming and hospitable. He took the time to explain the different beans and you can see that his passion and professionalism were very much a joy for us to see. Needless to say we have been ordering beans from Daniel for about a year and a half now. There is no need to go anywhere else for us because we enjoy the freshness, quality and variety that Rapids End offers. A 5-star experience and a 5-star coffee bean. Thank you Daniel...

It’s a treat to find a business with an owner who cares so deeply about providing each customer a world class experience with each and every roasted coffee bean. It’s a complete 180 from what you’d find at an average coffee shop where you might find yourself puzzled by the pieces of sub-average beans.
