Turnbull Cafe — Restaurant in Peterborough

Oh my, where do I begin? As I read the words of the person who disliked just about everything regarding the Turnbull Café, I really could not believe what I was reading to be honest with you. I asked myself if this person had actually visited the same Café I have been going to for the past two years every single time I come into Peterborough!! Apparently they did! Overpriced?? Uhh nooo, the home-made food and baked goods prepared for sale at the Turnbull Café are excellent and of top quality and you certainly receive your money's worth I have never ever thought that the food or drinks were overpriced because I knew everything was being prepared by very pleasing, well-trained and knowledgeable staff using the best ingredients.

Overheated?? Over the past two years, I have sat at just about every table in the Turnbull Café and I certainly have never felt overheated or uncomfortable. Each and every time that I have visited the Turnbull Cafe, I have used the Internet on both my iPad and my iPhone and there has never been a moment that I did not receive Wi-Fi immediately. I have never had any problems with the Internet connection!!

I have eaten various sandwiches, desserts, coffee and various juices and thoroughly enjoyed everything. I am totally addicted to the Brie and Apple Panini and it is very difficult for me to choose something else when I go to visit the Turnbull Café!! Everything they serve is first class, fresh, and totally delicious.

As has been pointed out elsewhere in reviews, the Turnbull Café is a short walk from the Peterborough Bus service and the Go Bus Terminal. I noticed a comment about the kitchen being messy. I am a retired Ontario Government employee. For years when I worked at the MNR a girlfriend and myself or just myself would drop by at lunchhour. I especially liked their coffee and homemade bars.I loved the food, the service and the atmosphere. Today - Wednesday July 12th, 2023 at approximately 2:30 my husband, who is also now retired, and myself walked from our home downtown. The doctor has been saying get more exercise. Anyways- we were both dressed quite casually. I mentioned to my husband we should drop into the Turnbull Cafe and have a bite to eat - so we did. A young girl came to wait on me and I asked her if I could have the washroom key as both my husband and myself wished to freshen up before we ordered our food. The young girl wanted to know what medical business I was visiting in the building and I told her I was a customer of the Turnbull Cafe. The young girl then went and got the owner who again asked me what medical business I was visiting in the building. I told the owner three times I was a customer of the Turnbull Cafe, but she told me she could not give me the washroom key. Frustrated, my husband and I left and went across the road to the Mall where there is a washroom and we had a bite to eat. Memorable Experience. Memorable Food.

First time having a Panini & it was GREAT. Crispy on the outside, a good bite. The Pesto with the Chicken with the Remoulade Sauce & Red Peppers is so PERFECT together. Very great flavour combination. The Kawartha Smoothie is UNFORGETTABLE. Really great flavour of the strawberry & mango & the protein makes it heavy as mentioned. I love the name of the store especially for a Café. This is a random Café that you would not see from the outside at first glance but I love the location & I love the logo & that there's an actual bull in the logo design. It's not just a name Turnbull but there's an actual bull animal to represent a Café. A bull for a Café doesn't really combine together that's why I love it. I love the interior design. Great service.
