Short version: Only two staff meant that everything was ridiculously slow (as all reviews confirm). The cook served me an 'old' teenburger that was cold, with a soggy condiment-soaked bottom bun and stale top bun. Just a guess: Someone else had ordered a teenburger, got sick of waiting and left, like SO MANY people say here in the reviews. So when I ordered mine, they just gave me the soggy, cold burger from earlier. On top of passing-off garbage food to customers, the staff even gave me the run-around and claimed they can't give refunds.
Another short-sighted business owner who thinks that cutting on staff (IE service) will still somehow result in a successful business.
Details below.
I ordered my usual poutine and teenburger on the app at 10:52. I walked in the restaurant 5 minutes later and immediately noticed the greasy / slippery floor from mopping with old / dirty water. I waited and waited. There are only two staff who seem to want to avoid eye contact. I sat at a table to wait. There was crumbs on the two seats and the tabletop was sticky. Again, "cleaning" with dirty water.
The restaurant was almost empty but I finally got my food 15-20 minutes after ordering.
IMMEDIATELY I notice my teenburger looked 'weird'. Instead of seeing ketchup on the bun, the bottom bun was red and soggy looking, like it had soaked-up ketchup over a long period of time. When I picked up the burger, I immediately noticed that the bun was cold? I touched the top bun and it was hard / stale. Between the cold, stale, ketchup soaked bun, I took one tiny bite before my tongue confirmed what my eyes saw. They served me a burger that had been sitting around to the point that it was cold and soggy from soaking up the old condiments.
Long story short, it was a long, slow, gross dining experience that I left hungry from and I'm out $9+tax because they couldn't refund. The...
Read moreThis is an updated review of the worst A&W in the country.
Today I’ve had the worst experience at A&W in my life, and one of the worst at any restaurant. On Monday we got the promotion email for the free kids meals at A&W on Halloween, so we planned to go there after school on the way home to have a nice meal and then go trick or treat. What a bad life choice, I get to the restaurant with my 2 kids around 4:15 to be told that they ran out of the promotion. So I ask if they ran out of food, but no, just the free kids meals. So I said never mind the boxes, it’s fine just put it in bags. But it apparently wasn’t an option, and the free meals ran out in the morning. Here’s the problem, today was a school day… How many families with kids under 12 years old went to A&W at 11am??.. I asked the worker if he’d ever run out of kids meals by 4pm on a Thursday and he said it’s never happened. So either this was a trick by the one restaurant, or A&W Canada just lured people to their restaurants to increase their profits. Outraged at the money I had to spend at your restaurant and you’ll never see...
Read moreI had the worst A&W experience. The lady who was working on June 3, 2025 around 3:45pm had the worst customer service skills and no manners with super rude behaviour. At first she gave me cold burgers and fries and when I went to tell her that the fries are cold she gave me a really annoyed look. When I told her that maybe she can be a little polite, she said we are very tired..which is no excuse to be rude in first place!! Then when I started to have my coffee it was cold as ice and when I went back again she said I can see the fumes so this is the hottest itself going to be and that she won’t change it. She told herself as the manager of the store!! She wanted to call the police on me because I didn’t speak french! Well, I didn’t see a sign outside which said that they will serve only french-speaking community…. If it was my restaurant, she would have been out long time ago with that attitude! I don’t expect such customer service after spending $30 which was anyways a waste because we left most of the things! My only regret is that I forgot to make a video or take a photo...
