Have not eaten here for at least 2 years. Our wonderful waitress was informed that I cannot eat eggs that are browned/crusted as they taste like metal to me (yes, I should have had them poached then to have ordered them over easy). We had a detailed interactive conversation on how she, too, only ate her eggs over easy like me. They arrived, via another waitress, well done and browned on the bottom. I sent them back immediately and new eggs returned BUT with the whites not cooked and watery ... Yuck! I was informed that this is what I had asked for...I sent the two floating eggs back with the toast and ate my crepe of fresh fruit that had only three thinly sliced cut up strawberries, 7 blueberries, and two unripe, cut with a razor blade, translucent, pieces of pineapple. The custard was like if you had smeared mustard on a hotdog. The sausages were very good. I was still charged for a full plate. I did not ask for the plate to be free or for a reduction in price. It was a "too bad, so sad situation". Will not be going back. Unfortunate, as the waitress was a reason to go back for and the restaurant is...
Read moreMy only complaint is the service my family and I received. We came to Chez Cora because of the great food but the service from one waitress really ruined the whole experience. Right from the beginning there was a sense of coldness from the waitress, my husband said maybe she's tired and it's been a long day. However, this waitress seemed to be quite friendly with other families, she was joking around with them and having great conversations. When she came to our table, she was very serious and dead cold even though we were polite and friendly with our two kids. She also never came back to check up on us and forgot parts of our order. The last straw was when we were done and wanted to pay, we were waiting for quite some time and finally my husband had to get up to ask for our bill. Her response was not nice, she raised her voice at him and seemed bothered by him. I wanted to leave her no tip but my husband was nice enough to leave something. The main reason I want to share my experience is because it seemed our visible minority looking family did not get the same service as the other white families in...
Read moreLOTS of waiting time, relatively empty restaurant. Saw our waitress chatting with other workers (not sure if it was work-related, but in either case we felt ignored). Our waitress would seat and serve a table next to us before taking our order. We aren’t sure if she thought we were wanted to take our time, but we were definitely in a rush and could NOT flag this woman down (until I physically went up to her). She forgot to bring us some small requests (not the biggest deal) and never checked on how our food was — not even at the end. Here is a photo of a “6-minute” hard boiled egg (ie just a brain). When we had to dramatically flag her down to get the bills (because it would have been another 25 minutes of silence otherwise), she inputted one bill into the debit machine and promptly left to the other end of the dining room. We knew that I would be a great great grandmother by the time she returned so we had to input the second bill into the machine ourselves (not rocket science as we were waitresses in the past). Shouldn’t be working at chez Cora....
