I recently visited a shawarma restaurant for the very first time with my children, and unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant.
To begin with, I ordered a combo plate for my daughter, who was excited to try it. However, she quickly found the food overwhelmingly spicy and was unable to take more than a couple of bites. When I inquired about the excessive heat in her meal, the staff informed me that the potatoes are inherently spicy. This information was particularly frustrating, as no one had mentioned this characteristic when we were placing our order, especially considering my daughter had chosen a simple salad as her side. It was evident that they could see she was selecting vegetables, which made their lack of communication even more disappointing.
Moreover, the second type of meat served on her plate was chillingly cold, as if it had just come straight from the fridge. When we pointed this out to the staff, they assured us that the meat was freshly cut. However, it was troubling to see the meat sitting on the plate adjacent to the grill, and it raised concerns about how long it had been there. To add insult to injury, the meat itself was extremely dry and lacked any flavorful taste, which further diminished our overall meal experience.
Additionally, when we requested a salad from the available options, we were met with a surprising response: there would be an extra charge for the salad. This unexpected request felt more like a cash grab than a genuine effort to provide good service, which left a sour taste in our mouths.
Overall, this restaurant felt like nothing more than a big scam, with virtually no regard for customer service or respect. I left feeling disappointed and frustrated, particularly because I had hoped to enjoy a delicious meal with my children. Sadly, our visit left us with a lasting negative impression, and I can confidently say that we won’t be returning...
Read more(see update below) Seems like this location has got a bit of a rough start. Luckily my experience wasn't as bad as some have talked about, but it was certainly different to the other locations. It's a new spot, they'll probably get into the groove of things.
I ordered some magic poutines. They did a step-wise way of preparing the food. Like one person took the order and did the first couple of things, then another staff did the next steps, and so on. Never saw it done that way at the other locations, and I thought they would make a mistake on the order since I only told the first person some specific requests and it didn't seem to get passed on to the others. But they got it all right, no issues.
Service was great, they were friendly and everything. The poutine could use a small improvement, though, as the pita chips just flood the top of the serving and take like half the space. Means they didn't put enough of the other ingredients. Also missing one ingredient, but it seems to be just that they don't have it at this store. Overall pretty good, though.
UPDATE (JAN 2024): I'm curious if there is a supply issue with this particular location. Third time I go where they run out of some ingredients before 8pm. Two of these were for the magic poutine. Someone else commented on the same thing, that they had no pita chips available. The magic poutine was missing pita chips, parsley and sesame seeds because they ran out. I've never had this happen at Peel, Laval and...
Read moreI came here on a Thursday at around 5:00PM for Dinner with a friend.
As for my friend it wads difficult for him to communicate with since one of the employees had a language issiues as it was hard to understan and vice versa.
They should be more knowledgeable about allergies and they should have a website that tells them their food has allergies because it’s sad that they don’t know or don’t have any info on that.
As for the service it was difficult to come by but one of the women (casheir) was nice and kind.
Also as I was waiting for the food they were talking another language but English or French and I understand that its okay to speak in your language when you are comfortable but most of them gathered near the Cash Register it kind of made me want to distance myself from them.
Other than that the food was alright, I think this place can be better. I saw one guy cleaning sweepeing and taking trash from other tables which is good on that guy.
The Saj Sandwhich was good it was tasty and I finished altough the hot sauce is not the best and not that spicy.
The Washroom was really clean as well and they have two of them.
Other than I may not come here again. Also, I think the Owner kept coming in and out of the establishment which is kind off odd and weird.
Please leave your rating and review and please dont send any negativity to this place. I'm doing based on others and reporting...
