I took my mom out for her birthday on Saturday. When we dine here my mom always gets steak and lobster and I get the prime rib. When we got there we were sat at a booth and our drink order was taken. When the girl came over and was taking our order she had to keep going to the kitchen to ask if they had the things we wanted for dinner. She seemed very uninterested in serving us because we were asking questions about the menu. When we got our food my mom's lobster was overcooked and the shell flaked off in her hand. Her steak was hard even though she ordered medium rare. When I got my food half of the prime rib was gristle and the other half wasn't even cooked at all. We waited for a waitress to come over and see how our dinner was but no one stopped by our table to talk to us or give us a refill on our drinks. When our waitress finally came over to take our plates I explained to her the issues with our dinner and she took my knife off of my plate and started poking at was left over and said "ok" before taking it to the kitchen. She was gone for a while and when we finally got the bill, nothing had been altered but there were extra charges on my bill. At that point I was so frustrated with the whole thing I just paid it and left. We won't be back if that's how they treat customers, not to mention charging that amount of money for food that was cooked so incorrectly. We paid good money for this experience. Very...

Food: The menu offers a broad range of classic pub fare mixed with a few Canadian favorites. Standout items often include the steaks, burgers, and wings, which are praised for being juicy and flavorful. The Hitchin Post Burger is a fan favorite, known for its generous portion size and toppings.
For appetizers, many recommend the poutine, a Canadian staple, and their selection of crispy, flavorful wings with a variety of sauces. Their steak sandwiches and prime rib specials are also popular choices for those looking for heartier meals.
Portions are generally generous, and the food is cooked well, with a focus on comfort and flavor rather than being overly fancy.
Drinks: Like any good bar, Hitchin Post has a solid drink selection. They offer a range of beers on tap, including local brews, along with classic cocktails and spirits. The prices are reasonable, making it a great place for a casual drink with friends...
Read moreThis was possibly the worst restaurant dining experience I have ever had!
There was absolutely no one to greet us when we entered the restaurant and we were left standing there without any acknowledgement, waiting to be seated. When we were finally seated, the restaurant was absolute chaos. Nobody seemed to have a clue what was going on. Customers were waiting for takeout, others were waiting to pay their bills and no one was getting any service. The restaurant did not even seem especially busy.
The restaurant itself was freezing cold. After waiting 20 minutes for the beer that I ordered, the waitress informed me that they couldn't get the keg working but then was unable to let me know what other beer options I had. Our food took forever to arrive and when it finally did, the prime rib that was supposed to be medium rare came out medium well. By this point, we were in a rush for other plans that we had that night. They apologized and it said that they would give us a discount on the bill. When the bill came, there was no discount and they had charged us for items that they never even served us! After pointing this out, they eventually gave us $8 off of a $150 bill.
All in all, a very disappointing experience! I would not recommend this...
