If you’re in the Shaughnessy area in Poco and craving some Mediterranean magic, look no further than Dinakis Mediterranean Grill. Let me just say, the portions here are generously sized, so come prepared to feast! The tzatziki is a standout—nice and fresh, with a flavor that’ll make your taste buds do a happy dance. It's the perfect companion to their delicious offerings. Speaking of which, the Souvlaki Combo is a real treat. It comes with beef, chicken, and prawn souvlaki, each one cooked to perfection. The beef is tender, the chicken is juicy, and the prawns are succulent. It's a delightful trio that hits all the right notes. We also tried the roast lamb, which was cooked to perfection. It wasn't fatty, and the meat just came off the bone. We thoroughly enjoyed it. For those dining with little ones, you'll be pleased to know they offer kids' portions. These come with one skewer instead of two at a reduced price, making it great value. It’s the perfect way to keep the kids happy without breaking the bank. Overall, Dinakis Mediterranean Grill is a great spot for hearty portions, fresh flavors, and good value. Make sure to bring your appetite—you won’t be disappointed!

Spanakopita is fresh, flaky, crispy, cheesy, and of course the spinach is not too stringy. Practically melts in your mouth Calamari is so soft and seasoned well. You can eat it as fast as if it were popcorn Rice has improved since a few months ago. More flavour, not too soft, and it has all the herbs and vegetables visibly mixed in. Good sight to see. Greek salad had cucumber, tomato, red onion, 1 olive, lots of cheese, and tzatziki sauce is added already. I like Greek salad, but I love this one: you can taste that the vegetables were just cut (maybe because I came in the morning) Tzatziki: a little bit runny when you get to the bottom of the dipping bowl, but sticks to your food. Was not that sour to me, and felt refreshing with every bite Pita bread was lightly toasted. Would have liked it to be a little bit darker and lightly salted, but it was nice and fluffy, texture was a solid crust with a soft inside. Roasted potato: was not a big fan due to the amount of lemon they put in it, but it was still moist and they marinated it well (not sure what they marinated it in, though)

I ordered take out tonight from Dinakis (through skip the dishes). Ordered my regular Greek dish, the chicken souvlaki. I often order from another restaurant but thought I would give Dinakis a try. Upon eating my chicken souvlaki skewer, I noticed the taste and texture of the chicken seemed off. To my surprise the chicken was raw in the middle. The restaurant was immediately called to inform them. They stated that we needed to contact skip for a refund (which is fine!) and said the chicken was raw due to how busy the restaurant was tonight. Unfortunately, I do not see this as a valid reason for serving undercooked meat. They offered to remake the meal and have me come and pick it up. Unfortunately with a baby in bed, leaving the house is not option which is why I ordered in. I’ll no longer be order from Dinakis. Perhaps if the situation had been dealt with differently on their end I would. However, it’s all left a bad taste in my mouth - no pun intended.

I first ordered from this restaurant on Door Dash (or Skip) , I am a big fan of Mediterranean food and couldn't wait to try it. When I received my order I was missing one of the entrees, no big deal, Door Dash reimbursed no problem, and obviously because ordering through this system, I unconsciously blamed the delivery service instead of the restaurant. (Sorry Door Dash) Fast forward to last week when I decided to dine in the restaurant with a party of 2. We arrived during happy hour, bonus right? We were allowed to choose our table and we chose a booth at the end. Our waitress did not offer us hard copy menus just the QR code, which is fine, but other tables were offered the option of a hard copy menu which to be honest, I would have preferred. We ordered 2 ceasers, and I was worried I might not enjoy them and the waitress promptly informed me if I tried and didn't like them that they would find me an alternative. We ordered a few things off the happy hour menu and off the happy hour menu (the menu is quite extensive so be prepared to take the time to review it - 16 pages). Our meals came; and we decided to order the dinakis fries to go. Now this was where I felt our whole experience went sour. The waitress never once check in on us again, I wanted to order a cola as we finished our ceaser, our water was never refilled, they never did a quality check on our meals. And to top it off our fries took 35 mins to get. We asked for our bill and waited 10 mins, and about another 10 mins to pay although we asked for the card reader immediately when we received the bill. The servers constantly huddled behind the bar chatting (ours included) even after we asked for our bill etc. Keep in mind, the restaurant was not busy enough to validate these issues and they had 3 women working in the front serving. (In total during the course of our arrival and departure there was approximately 8 tables total; either already seated or seated during our dinner)

The food was good and I thought the servers pant suits were cute but I was extremely disappointed with the service. For an establishment that has won an award for fine dining, I'm wondering if you bribed the judges to win it.

I hope that you retrain your servers to ensure that there is a high standard of service similar to the fine dining experience you...

The food wasn't bad, but the service was disgusting. I was SO angry leaving this place. Upon walking in I asked the woman at the front if there would be much of a wait, as I was starving! She told me that It would take roughly about 15 mins for our food to come out after we ordered it. Perfect! I hadn't eaten all day and I was looking forward to food right now! (keep in mind that if she had said there would be a wait, then I would have just given up and gone for fast food, but I was trying to eat healthier).

We order our food and 15minutes goes by, 25, 45, ONE HOUR LATER- I'm hangry and annoyed, they hadn't even given us our SALADS. At the 30min mark I asked them if the food was coming soon and told the server what the woman at the front had told me about the time and she said no worries we will get it out to you asap. Then it came out another 30 mins later. I openly told them about how I was upset and they did nothing. I was so hangry (yes, HANGRY) at that point, that I told them to pack up my food and I would just go home and eat it, since I was now late for my evening plans.

And they made no effort to make up for it either. Even though I specifically asked if they were able to bring food out fast, because I knew I was really hungry and didn't want to wait long. And the woman at the front that promised me this? THE MANAGER. I was essentially lied to by the manager, because she KNEW it was too busy to be able to handle my request. All because she wanted my money. No offer of a discount or compensation, nothing. Very poorly handled. I'm so angry about it that I don't even care about the food. I don't recommend coming here, I wont recommend it to my friends and I certainly wouldn't want any of you to go.

I don't condone that kind of...

❌ I don’t usually write reviews, but I only do so if I really like something or if I absolutely hate it. Unfortunately, this experience was the latter. We ordered drinks, chicken strips, fries, Dinakis Soulvaki, and Chicken Fettuccine (with an extra $4.99 for baked), but things quickly went wrong. The waitress quoted the price wrong for the baked pasta, and when the pasta arrived, a guy brought it to our table, thinking it was lasagna instead of the chicken fettuccine we ordered. The staff clearly wasn’t even aware of the change.

When we got the fettuccine, it had no chicken in it at all. After we brought it to their attention, the waitress took the plate back and returned with a piece of chicken placed on top. Little did they know, half the dish had the portion I actually put back from my plate, which didn’t have any chicken in it. So how can I believe they didn’t tamper with my food when that portion—originally without chicken—now had a piece of chicken on top and on the side? It was uncomfortable watching them try to serve the same food again. The girl even came out of the kitchen, looked left and right, and then went back in before returning with the dish, which made the whole situation even more awkward.

When we decided not to continue the meal, they insisted on a “rule” that they couldn’t touch the food on the table. The manager made the situation worse, offering excuses instead of an apology and denying they’d made a mistake. They kept saying the fettuccine was correct, even after I showed them there was no chicken in it. It wasn’t about the money, but the awful service and rude attitude made me feel worse. I really want this restaurant to be honest and stop lying to customers about everything. I’ll never return or recommend...
