This pub used to be good until new management came along. The Greek menu is the most confusing thing about this place, as the atmosphere isn't Greek at all and the food quality itself is laughable and flavourless. The menu price points are either $10 or $17, nothing in between, which is also off putting considering the quality doesn't raise between the two. The menus themselves look low budget. I think the owner needs to learn more about what kind of demographic comes to a pub like this. Open a Greek restaurant elsewhere. Please close soon.
In reply to the owner, who didn't comprehend my review fully: I KNOW it's a pub and sports bar, that's what people want. The Greek food is the thing that's off putting. There's nothing wrong with the drinks, or the music (although the DJ that night had no idea how to transition between songs properly and it was cringey).
I had the pita burger, one of us had to have your flatbread pizza because it was the only vegetarian option on the menu. The other had had the regular burger. All of which had little flavour. The regular burger was small and looked like a mcdouble from the value menu at McDonald's, but somehow less appetizing. The pita burger seemed like a good idea but lacks any kind of flavour. ADD SALT, put some dressing on the veggies, put more tzatziki. And for Pete sakes change the fries. They don't need feta they need salt.
My best advice is to cut the Greek menu and introduce a regular pub menu with food people actually want. Maybe keep 2-3 of your best Greek dishes if you must, but the menu is lacklustre and confusing. Take a look at the previous owners menu for tips. A bowl of rice is not a pub appetizer.
And as for the menu... C'mon, half the items don't even have a full description of whats on it. It says "veggies" by every item, which could mean anything. A quick field trip to any other pub or restaurant will give you a good idea on how to present your items in a way that's professional.
Maybe I was too harsh to start, but I honestly feel like this place will be under new management...
Read moreChecked up on the reviews to see if anything had changed since our last visit to consider coming back, but after seeing how many sarcastic and defensive the responses back from the owner there is I thought I would post our experience as well from our last visit last August as although it's an older review it doesn't make it invalid:
" My boyfriend and I used to go here pretty often before the pandemic started, and it was one of our favourite pubs for date night. It was always lively and lots of choices for great appetizers and a unique pub food menu with good drinks. We went back for the first time since I believe March, and brought our friend so he could experience our favourite pub, and it was very vacant and the food has changed to basically all greek. I like greek food quite a lot, but that is not what we went there for so we were caught off guard. Our waitress advised us there had been a change in ownership. The nachos were very plain and dry with only a bit of cheese, red peppers, and cucumbers (Very odd toppings for nachos in our opinions) and no sauce to dip them in. I ordered the spaghetti and it was very dry as well so I only ate the meatballs, and the pita was pretty dry and crunchy rather than soft. The prices are decent, but we did not enjoy our meals so unfortunately we wont be going back. "
A tip to the owners, if you cannot take constructive criticism this will ensure people to never return. In response to what you said back to "Zia's" review, no it was not appropriate for her to say it's a place of elder alcoholics , but the fact that you stated other patrons did not think her review was appropriate makes it clear you're discussing reviews with customers. Many of your responses to reviews come off unprofessional from a business page. At this time I cannot speak to if the quality of food has changed. Hopefully we can come in and try again sometime to update our current...

Having lived in poco for many years the now Bennett has gone through many lives as a variety of bars and pubs. Having tried all of them I would say the Bennett is the best attempt but still not a place to seek out.
High marks go to the happy hour food. Reasonable portion sizes and a pretty large selection of items you donât find in most specials.
Low marks for the building, atmosphere, and staffing. When you walk to the front door there reads a sign that says âbathroom for patrons onlyâ which really sets a darker tone before you even walk through the door. As soon as you walk in you are hit with a strange smell. Maybe it has to do with the open kitchen or the many lives this place has lived but it isnât great.
Once seated getting our drink orders placed was a 5 minute wait during a quiet time of business with 3 people working the customers. Pbr was on special so we ordered one and our server plunked the can on the table. A small thing but a glass would have been nice or even asking if we cared for one, but again that is an indicator of the level of service.
At $20 with tip for an appy and a couple drinks my expectations were low but even those struggled to be met. I would pass on the Bennett and head to the John B or Gillnetter for a vibe like this place is trying to hit or the arms of you are craving the...
