Update: Ok this place was so good I've been talking about it all week and now we just had it for a work lunch 5 days later. We split the Mediterranean, BBQ Chicken, Genovese and Hawaiian. IT. IS. ALL. SO GOOD. I can't even pick a favorite, you can't go wrong no matter what you decide.
Original: We decided to try Emilio Finatti Pizzeria after my coworkers couldn’t stop talking about it (the owner previously dropped off a couple pizzas as a thank you for their service). We were completely impressed!
I ordered a cheese for the kids - who said it was the best pizza they’ve ever had, Hawaiian, Chicken Alfredo and a Godfather (as it was recommended in previous reviews). I got carried away when I ordered (I was hungry and excited to try something new) - but we were not disappointed! Our favorite was the Chicken Alfredo.
When I went to pick up the pizzas it was dark and I wasn’t sure where I was going - the signage at night isn’t great, it’s a smaller neon sign of their logo. I couldn’t read it from the street but recognized the outline of it - and it was the only place with lights on so that helped. And it’s busy.
The pizza is very different than the large chain pizza we are used to (I have little kids!) - but in such a good way. I would call this fancy pizza and I’d like to try some of the other flavors. I probably wouldn’t order The Godfather again (it’s good but wasn’t my preference), would need to try another meat option. The receptionist said the chicken curry is good so that’s on my list for next time too.
The honey butter / oil that is on the pizza is so good! I had 4 slices at dinner and then snuck another one as I was cleaning up, but I didn’t feel gross and weighed down after. We have lots of leftovers for tomorrow. Will definitely be back and tell...
Read moreAmazing pizza. It deserves the awards it has won and the word of mouth praise.
I think that the honey drizzle is a good thing, and I really like the thinner crust. The toppings are Quality (and there are a lot of them), and there are some combinations that are unexpectedly great. If a standard pizza has "recommended toppings" (which are included in the price!) really consider taking the advice!
It's a little more expensive than national chain pizza places, but the value from Emilio Finatti is through the roof in comparison.
The meat pizzas are very satisfyingly meaty, the vegetarian pizzas taste good and are satisfying. There are spicy pizzas too. They have a spicy dip (among over [?] a dozen) that has respectable heat.
The staff are amazing - I Want to Believe that they're paid relatively well in addition to being passionate about amazing pizza and customer service.
They have an indoor 'picnic table' for dine-in, maybe for 12 - and a 4 person 'bar' by the window. I've walked in for a pickup to see a company event at the picnic table.
... and a VERY impressive selection of craft brews and other beverages in the expansive glass-doored cooler behind the till.
Really, the best people AFAICT. Definitely worth checking out even if it's a little out of the way/ hard to find. Google maps knows the location and the directions should be fine.
They do delivery and the delivery peep we got was a great guy.
This is for the...
Read moreMostly enjoyed a family meal at Emilio Finatti Pizzeria! We dined in and both my son and I had the Al Capone calzone and my daughter had a 10" cheese pizza. We started with a Garlic Flatbread and purchased the 4oz Honey Butter. I wasn't blown away by the flatbread as it lacked that buttery garlicy goodness you expect from a garlic bread. Luckily we had that butter to spread on top! The calzones were very big and I ended up saving half for my lunch the next day. My son and daughter loved their meals.
We then purchased a pizza to take home and 6 cupcakes. The pizza was delicious, but I've forgotten the name now. And the 6 cupcakes were good.
I was going to give 3 stars because of what happened as I was grabbing my take away... The girl behind the counter shouted at me, "Did you pay for those!?". I was taken aback by this as the gentleman that had taken my order was the one collecting the remaining items after my pizza was ready to go. It was pretty embarrassing and was not something I expected to occur, especially standing with my children and having others in the restaurant. She very well could have walked up to her coworker 5ft away and just asked him instead of shouting that out for everyone to hear, making me feel like I was doing something wrong. I kept myself together and happily showed her my receipt. But it definitely left me with a bad taste in my mouth. For that, I probably won't...
