We had an all day training group in this location today. We rented the back room and also preordered food and coffees.
The best part of the entire experience was the kindness of staff. They were very sweet and accommodating and even when busy, remained friendly and calm. They checked in with us to confirm items, and were very polite in all interactions.
The croissants (all different types) were truly outstanding. The desserts look amazing although I didn't have any, I wish I did! The croissants come in quite a few different types and we're so fresh and flaky and tasty. The wraps are pre-done so if you have allergies this could be an issue. I didn't try any of the wraps ordered, but the menu sounded ambitious and interesting. It definitely had a Korean influence on it, mixed with coffee shop vibes. I didn't try the coffee or tea, but I've heard it's quite good. They roast all their beans on site and it's pretty cool to see the big roaster in the back of the restaurant with a bar type seating arrangement around it. I can imagine kids love to see it in action! I would however, offer a carafe of coffee on order as well as a carafe of hot water with a selection of teas.. They did a great job with what they had and I suppose it's a new location and so they aren't exactly set up for catering type situations yet.
The room we rented was large, bright and clean ( a little cluttered due to storage and because they use it for their coffee classes) but the amenities were fantastic. Extension cords, white board and markers, lots of seating, a HUGE tv and HDMI, etc. The alarm system panel was right outside the door however and everytime the door opened in the business (any door) it loudly said "back door open" (front door open) etc. In the Telus panel voice. I know Telus has a volume option, so it would have been helpful to have that turned down but I understand if they need it on for safety purposes too. Especially because the back door is tucked away from the front where the workers are, so it's probably safer to hear the alert since they can't see the door.
I've heard they also do specialty tea classes but I don't know too much about it- just that it's offered.
The parking is awesome there is tons and tons of regular parking all around the front, back, and side...it seems there are infinite spots available. Regular spots, person with disabilities spot, electric vehicles charging etc.
I'd also keep hand sanitizer available for guests, especially for the training room. We had 25 people in there and since there's only 1 bathroom (toilet and sink) for ladies, it was tough to keep hands clean. A large garbage can in room would be helpful too.
The atmosphere in the dining are was good. It's almost "brutalist" style architecture so stools and tables made from concrete etc. Seperate coffee and creamo station and wifi tent cards on the table. I didn't like the bus cart right next to sitting area because it's for dirty dishes and often has dirty dishes stacked in it and dirty bus pans. The windows are huge and therefore it's very bright. Tall ceilings, industrial style, and the dining area is great place to do some work or kick back end read a book! The back room is also a great place to train and rent out! Overall it was the staff that made the day...thank you...

This place Could have become my favourite place BUT…. unfortunately this would be the first and last visit for me (and my partner)…
It feels like this cafe, on purpose, uses very uncomfortable stools and seats without any back support because they don’t want you to stick around. They want you to have your coffee and leave.
Also their internet wasn’t working upon arrival and had to get them to fix it.
So if you can put up with super uncomfortable seats and want a 10 min coffee this would be your place.
But if you think your are gonna bring your laptop and work here or comfortably talk to your friends over a cup of coffee that won’t happen due to extremely uncomfortable seats and poor internet service.
Respond to C Market Coffee: Thanks for caring and responding back. I did sit on the seats along the window and waited for bunch of people to clear out so I can sit in one of the very few seats where you can lean against the wall but again the seats were still super uncomfortable. Also my partner felt the exact same thing. I also noticed people stretching their back and other than us there was not a single person on their laptop. You guys could become THE SPOT for people who work on their laptop if you manage to improve your seat comfort. I would strongly recommend ordering more comfortable seats and see how your place would get filled up with customers. Your store was 50% empty! the Starbucks across the street was full. You have better coffee, food and nicer looking space. You should be 10 times busier. I am a business owner myself and this is my 2...
Read moreI’d like to share some feedback from my visit to your Port Coquitlam cafe on July 28 around 6:30 PM.
I ordered a medium espresso frappe and asked if I could add an extra shot of espresso. The barista (male, wearing glasses, hair tied back) informed me that he couldn’t punch the add-on espresso into the till. I was a bit surprised, as this wasn’t my first time ordering at C Market and I’ve requested extra espresso shots before without any issue. The café wasn’t busy at the time, and I was the only person in line. I went ahead and ordered some pastries, and before finalizing my entire order (including the frappe), I politely asked again if there was any way to add a shot. He repeated that the system wouldn’t allow it and said I’d have to be charged $4 for a separate espresso.
I was fine with the extra charge, but he discouraged me from proceeding, saying, “Honestly, it’s not worth it.” He went on to explain that the espresso shots in the frappe were already enough and that adding more would water down the drink.
While I understand his point and appreciate staff expertise, I felt my request was dismissed rather than accommodated. I would absolutely respect it if it’s your company policy not to modify drinks or accommodate such requests, and I would have accepted that graciously, but I don’t believe that was the case here, as the barista didn’t mention any policy and instead simply discouraged the request based on his opinion.
As a customer who often orders extra espresso and is happy to pay for it, this interaction was disappointing. I hope future service includes more clarity and consideration for customer preferences...
