Driven by this gelato place a ton of times and finally decided to stop in! I must say it was a pleasant surprise for the amount of gelato flavours. Price is reasonable at $5.25 for a small in either a cup or a cone. Nice to choose 2 flavours if you can decide what to have. The small is plenty of gelato for 1. The espresso, vanilla, lemon, limoncello, strawberry and strawberry cheesecake flavours are all delicious! Unfortunately there is no website although there are details online showing they have one. Also they have a Facebook page but it hasn’t been updated in a long while as it also provides a website address to a non existent site. Spoke with owner about it and he said it wasn’t his? Not sure i understood correctly however it does show the right address and phone number but apparently the wrong store hours? The location itself is easily accessible and is okay overall but the exterior grounds could use a cleanup along the street and their small takeout style menu needs updating to remove the non existent website address that is featured on the front of it. The restaurant does serve hot drinks and a few lunch items as well. If you love a nice cold treat on a warm day this is worth the tasty gelato options...
Read moreI recently visited this ice cream shop with my father and my two young children, aged 2 and 4. We purchased two regular-sized ice creams and two "mini" ones, which were served in very tiny cups. Unfortunately, my daughter accidentally dropped her ice cream on the floor on our way to sit down. I took it back to the counter for disposal, hoping that given the small portion size meant for a child, the staff would replace it without charge. I was unwilling to pay another $5 for such a small amount. However, the staff simply threw it away without a word and continued to engage in personal conversations, laughing and looking at their phones.
This experience was disappointing on multiple levels. Firstly, the lack of customer service and empathy was disheartening, especially in a situation involving a small child. Secondly, the quality of the ice cream itself was subpar and quite flavorless. It is evident that the standards of this establishment have declined over the years. Given this experience, I will not be returning...
Read moreReview Update (2022): if I could give this place 10 stars, I would! And it's not necessarily for the ice cream but because of the owner (and also the young ladies that are sometimes working behind the counter). He is literally one of the nicest people I've ever met! Sometimes I go to Poco for appointments that don't always leave me feeling great, so on my way back home I always stop here and it doesn't matter what I'm going through that day, talking to them (just a quick hello and goodbye) and leaving with an ice cream cone in my hand just makes me smile. And I don't know if he can tell from my face or he has a sense about people, but on my worse days, he has given me free ice cream (refusing to accept payment or tips)!! ❤️ My oiginal 5-star review posted in 2020 or 2021: I come here as often as I can (once every 2-3 months maybe)! Love the gelato and the small and friendly vibe. It's great to relax here and get away from the frenzy of the busy city life. They are generous with their gelato portions and offer...
