I was walking by and a nice lady came out of the restaurant and handed me a take out menu stating that they had only been in business 3 weeks. All I can say is that they need to work harder or they will go out of business. 1) Hard to understand the gentleman who answered the phone. After many attempts he finally repeated the order back correctly. 2) Received a phone call from UnPhoGetaBowl within seconds of my hanging up - No chicken breasts, would we accept thighs. Ok we say. There is a meat store 3 doors down that has awesome chicken so if you know you are running low walk over 3 doors and get some more 3) My son went to pick it up in 15 minutes. Upon opening the food packages at home there were 2 orders missing. The Chicken, rice, salad spring roll plate was MISSING the rice, salad and spring roll. Instead we received a box with 2 small thighs in it. They did get the vermicelli salad bowl with chicken correct, but hubby says not very good and he likes another nearby Pho restaurant way better. 4) The honey garlic wings-9 piece for $8 was MISSING the honey and the garlic. The wings just had soya sauce poured over them, very salty?? I guess something got lost in translation. I called UnPhoGetaBowl and the gentleman who originally took our order answered and then put a woman on she said "Oh you only got the chicken breasts- no I only got 2 thighs as you are out of breasts. She says OK come back and we will give you the rice, salad and spring roll, but you have to pay more $$. I said I guess we have to as we'd like to eat. My thoughts : They screwed up but I have to spend more gas money and time to pick up the stuff they forgot, should be free for the inconvenience. Would I recommend the food, NO, there are better places nearby. Would I be a repeat customer NO. We work hard for our money and don't want to waste it on poor service...
Read moreYesterday, my wife and myself went here and ordered house special pho, bun bo hue, and deep fried chicken wings. We were quite impressed with the food. The house special pho tasted somewhat beefy with hints of pho spices, and abundance of meat toppings. This could be considered a rare gem, as most pho restaurants seemed to take drastic economical shortcuts with their beef stocks, and also skimped on meat toppings. Personally I think this is the tastiest pho that I have had in a restaurant in Vancouver area. The bun bo hue was quite tasty as well. It has annatto seeds oil on the top, which I haven't seen in many other local restaurants. I wished there is stronger taste of the fermented shrimp paste, but next time, I'll ask it on the side. The champion thou was their deep fried chicken wings. It tasted like they used fresh chicken wing, well marinated and fried properly. Definitely coming back here next time to try their...
Read moreWe went last weekend for my daughter's birthday - she really likes this place. The staff are super friendly. We were seated right away and after we ordered, the food came quickly.
Delicious steaming hot soup with noodles!
My friends had the beef stew with noodles - he really enjoyed the soup.
The kids had the beef ball pho - and they enjoyed that too.
I ordered my usual house special and shared with my husband. I asked for an extra bowl so we can add different condiments to our own bowl and customize our soups. He loved that he can make his as spicy as he wants and I wouldn't complain, haha.
I also love ordering their deep fried chicken wings. So delicious!
We've been going here for at least 5 years... I think they've been very consistent and maybe getting better. It's always a fun treat to come here - and then the kids can hang out at Lions...
