We overall had a bad experience but this is not the fault of the waitstaff. The server who was seemingly in charge was doing the best she could with the little support she was given. We ordered mussels to start and for entree the steak and lobster special and a lobster Mac and cheese. The mussels were fine but nothing special. Spicy but bland. When the steak and lobster dinner came, the steak was not cooked medium rare as ordered, and was clearly a frozen steak thrown on a grill and doused in some sort of sauce and ended up rare-ish but unevenly cooked. Inedible. I found a shrimp tail in my lobster Mac and cheese which made me lose my appetite. Throughout our stay it became apparent there was a large party upstairs that they were not properly staffed for. I felt truly bad for the servers. In the end the server who was working noticed we were dissatisfied and tried to make it up to us and was great, understanding and apologetic. The food here is not good and its unfortunate the reviews led us to believe otherwise. I would absolutely avoid this dining experience.

Stopped here on July 31 on our way from Laveanne. Picked it based on the Google ratings and it did not disappoint. Called ahead to book a table and it was ready as we came in. There wasn’t much of a rush maybe due to the time slot (around 4pm). The place was bright, spacious and really airy. Multiple floors, multiple washrooms. Staff was nice, attentive and efficient. They addressed our concerns regarding alcohol in our food and worked with our dietary limitations. Menu is extensive and offer a lot of variety. We ordered the butternut squash ravioli, the grilled salmon pad Thai, the blackened salmon, the Asian hotpot and the Lobster Lovers. Really wasn’t expecting much other than pub styled food, suffering from one sauce for all the dishes syndrome. But wow, were we surprised! Every single dish we ordered was unique in taste and flavour. Generous portions. Just beautiful plates. Absolutely 10/10. Wouldn’t hesitate to visit again if we’re in that part of ON!

Everything was delicious and I loved how they had multiple options! My favourite is probably their butternut squash Ravioli because it was topped with a bunch of neat toppings: apple, pecans, sage and goat cheese and the filling had leeks! So fascinatingly delicious, I didn’t think it would go together, but it did! Their grilled cheese also had apple, so that was a nice surprise too! I will say that the cheese quesadilla was too cheesy for my liking, but it IS a cheese quesadilla that isn’t skimping out on the cheese, so go for it if you like! Overall 10/10! Our server told us about a festival happening at the waterfront in Cobourg and a bunch of other things we could do, so we decided to try them out! The waterfront festival was lovely :) service 10/10, food 10/10, atmosphere 10/10, we sat by the window! I’d love to visit again for new creations!

Unbelievable. How do places like this stay in business?? Nookies? SHAME ON YOU, staff and management. Do you actually do staff training? Is any of your food, not Cisco, Costco or Independent frozen foods aisle? Truly the age of mediocrity, but this falls below that. The WORST SERVICE IN PORT HOPE. DO NOT GO. Shame on Nookies for even being in our lovely town. Bad representation. First we phoned for take out and the restaurant staff that took the call hung up on us because it's so loud in there they couldn't hear us. HELLO!! if you don't have a place where people can hear to receive take out orders, THEN WHY HAVE A TAKE OUT OPTION? Or maybe you could say, "I'm sorry, I can't hear so I will have to end the call. Please let management know that the take out system here is ridiculous and the website info is inadequate." But no. She just hung up. Classic. OK, so why didn't we order online you may ask. WE TRIED! We placed our order online and it said that the order came with two sides. There were no sides listed on the online menu and they could not be ordered online with the order, so..... we called. What a mistake as clearly the people answering the phone are either phone impaired or they have not received the benefit of being trained to be polite. But what the heck. Who needs customers anyway. The person who answered couldn't GRASP that there were no sides listed on their online menu. SO THEY JUST HUNG UP! Very impressive. YES, in spite of this, my brave husband drove to the physical location to place the freaking order. He was there for over an hour but had paid for the order up front, so couldn't actually just walk out. He's a better person than me. Finally an hour and half later, he arrived home and not only is the order WRONG, (as in they missed half of my husband's meal) IT IS GARBAGE! So probably better that it was only half of what he ordered. McCains frozen fries are better than Nookies and the 'award winning ribs'?? Costco. Come on people. Really? Get it together Nookies. You fail in every department. Tourist and local alert. Skip it. Go to our...

Stopped in for lunch on our way to Wellington. First impressions; store front was clean modern/retro, nice colours and good signage ✅ Inside we were greeted with a smile and warm welcome from (probably the owner), followed appropriate B.S. Covid stuff before taken to booth and seated✅ Table/chair seating at the front, booth seating to the right and more table/chair seating at the rear, very clean with modern decor and nice artwork, perfect lighting and great looking, clean well stocked bar. Restaurant was starting to get busy (arrived 11:45am)✅ Table service; all boxes ticked, our server was friendly, smiled, attentive and spoke clearly outlining all menu features and drinks were served to us in no time ✅ Food; Comprehensive Main Menu for every taste (vegetarian & gluten fee options) and a $10 lunch menu plus daily specials. I ordered chicken wings (Tuesday All Day 75 cent jumbo wing special) tossed in their signature butter curry with a side Caesar salad. My wife ordered avocado chicken club on multi-gran with fries. Meals were prepared and served within 10-15 mins and plating was excellent ✅Both meals were outstanding (compliments to the chef!) Wings tossed in butter curry with side of home made ranch dressing was absolutely outstanding! Caesar Salad (large) with fresh crunchy lettuce, lots of creamy garlicky dressing with the perfect amount of croutons & fresh parm cheese. One of the best Caesar’s I’ve had in ages - Delicious 😋! ✅ The sandwich was made with fresh bread and ingredients, chicken perfectly cooked and fries had that crunch to them ✅ For all you food enthusiasts, groups, families or individuals, Nookie’s is a gem 💎 it is a must if you are passing through or if you live in the area. 10/10 with 5 ⭐️’s. Thank you for the awesome experience. Will definitely be...

If you have a physical disability or mobility issues, this is not the restaurant for you. The step to enter the building is very high, once inside - for our reservations for 5, I was brought to stairs. I asked if there was an elevator as I was struggling due to my permanent physical disability , The female staff told me I was not disabled and to just go upstairs. I began to explain why it was unsafe for me to go upstairs today, showing her leg and foot that do not work, my brace, i was dizzy, new progressive glasses today and she huffs and leaves. I should have left then but I was meeting friends, didn't want to let them down and stubbornly and very unsafe got myself upstairs, where no staff were and still had to no idea where our reserved table was. Another female staff came up, asked her where our table was, she was very rude and also told me there is a new manager and the manager has no idea what they are doing. No idea why she provided this information as my issue was with the lack of accessibility and being told I was an abled body person. We did not stay to eat - the two staff members left a very bad impression. I had to sit on my bum and go down the stairs one by one to leave, I was very unsteady. If you have a physical disability or issues with your mobility in anyway - Do not go to this restaurant. You will be treated horribly. You will be told you do not have anything physically wrong with you. Stay safe and eat at a restaurant that welcomes everybody and doesn't insult you. Ableism is the discrimination of and social prejudice against people with disabilities based on the belief that typical abilities are superior. At its heart, ableism is rooted in the assumption that disabled people require 'fixing' and defines people by...
