Subway — Restaurant in Port Hope

The 2 star rating is strictly for SUBWAY as a company, NOT because of the food or service I received yesterday.

I'm always a tipper. Anyone who is in or know of someone in the service industry, tips are important!

However, it can to my knowledge last night that SUBWAY KEEPS THE TIP!

I'll explain.

I was paying via debit and as I pressed tip, my son spoke and said "why tip? they don't get the tip!"

Upon further discussion, he thought the tips went to the debit company and I explained how that works and to "prove the point" I asked the young server behind the counter "you get your tips, right?"

With a crooked smile and a shrug she said "oh, no. we don't get the tip."

So, although he had the wrong reasoning, my son was right, apparently they do not get their tips! at least not at this location.

If this is a SUBWAY "thing", I find that absolutely disgusting and reprehensible. If it's specific to this location, then that owner should feel gross about their conduct and give their head a good shake.

You own the business, you don't deserve the tips. Your staff that keeps you running and making money should.

Anyways, I thought I would share this because I know I had NO idea. I'll still use this location as I have found the staff to be polite and welcoming. For future, you can bet dollars to donuts, I'll be hitting that "No Tip" button every...

They forgot to put the meat in a 6" assorted sub. How does that happen?? Luckily the other two 6" subs managed to come with meat but I'm hungry and beyond angry right now. You also need to lighten up the condiments. The subs were soaked with the stuff to the point it leaked out and covered most of the outside buns and wrapping. Very unappealing and it really shows the lack of care and training. We've steered clear of the place for close to a year after our last order was botched only to come back to this. We have ordered here multiple times in the past and never had issues in the past. Until tonight, we had ordered subs for dinner. I had ordered the Mozarella Bella which is suppose to be a Vegetarian sub. Not only was the sub soaked in condiments but there was tomato sauce…(which isnt part of the sub) then to my suprise meat balls and salami. We asked for a refund and then asked for it to be remade through door dash. The sub comes again.. with the exact same issue. PLEASE have your staff trained on new menu items.
