Disappointing and Unfair Experience
We called the restaurant in advance to ask if they were open for dining and were told yes. But when we arrived, we were shocked to be denied a table — not because they were full or closing, but because two people in our group didn’t have ID.
Everyone in our group was over 25 — some over 30 — and most of us had valid ID. We made it very clear that we only came to eat, not to drink. Still, they said unless every single person showed ID, we couldn’t even sit and order food.
This is the first time we’ve seen a pub or restaurant enforce such a rule. There is no law in BC requiring restaurants or pubs to check ID just to let people eat, especially if no alcohol is being ordered. It felt more like an arbitrary or discriminatory decision rather than a legal requirement.
We’ve dined at many places before, but this experience was disappointing and unwelcoming. We hope management reconsiders how they treat customers who just want a meal — and are clearly...
Read moreSteer clear away from this place if you have any food allergies. We came to visit Powell River for the first time for our hockey tournament during Remembrance Day weekend. We stated the food allergies and requested a burger, no bun, no sauce, plain patty lettuce wrap, and he still had a reaction within minutes, tingling in his throat, hives. Obviously cross contamination occurred. We never had a problem in previous tournaments eating out. It was an unfortunate incident but what made it worse was the manager's reaction to it. Not only did she not take responsibility for it saying it's not the kitchen's fault, I guess it was my son's fault then. She still made me pay 20 dollars for a measly burger patty. I have no problem when an establishment tells me no guarantees, I look elsewhere but to accept the food order and then put the blame on the kid, wow, left me speechless. The waitress on the other hand, was very kind and apologetic and I'll remember her...

Our server was great, what it was was the wait time. Took forever to get our drinks. Let alone the wait time for our food. But we started to realize she was doing it all. Serving every table, making every drink policing the door because of capacity. We even joked she was making the food as well. We felt bad for her at the end.
So maybe do something about getting more staff or something. With restrictions lifting you are going to have more customers and you'll have full capacity sooner then later. Then you'll be sunk and your staff member will be ran...
