Oakroom Grill — Restaurant in Prince George

The service was very friendly and prompt. The food was very good as well. The fettuccine alfredo pasta had plenty of flavor with a hint of even nutmeg which I found very interesting in a positive way. The garlic bread was a little on the crispy side but had great flavor of actual garlic! The other dish was a chicken and potatoes/mixed veggies that was very good with what I would say resembled a real home meal. The chicken was overcooked unfortunately but I find that with most restaurants as they are trying to make sure they dont kill someone and and attain a lawsuit hahahaha. The portion sizes was a little small for me but I'm also a powerlifter/strongman competitor so my portion sizes are above average for most. All in all it was a very pleasurable experience as the music wasnt too loud, friendly atmosphere and good food. I reccomend this restaurant and I will be returning to try something else on the menu. Update: My last two experiences have been not as positive to my disappointment. Food quality I found went downhill on my second to last visit and on my last experience it was poor service. The waitress was friendly but disappeared for long periods of time. The appetizers took a long time and after the appies where done it was a half hour or more to get the mains. Decided to go to oakroom . Normally it’s pretty good . Been awhile since we have gone , I had the chicken supreme and hubby had the beef dip , where we sat I could see where they place the food …. The so called manager was standing there and lining up the plates the cooks put up …hubbies food came up sat there for a good ten minutes . Manager moving it around meanwhile her playing with her hair rubbing her eye and scratching her ear …not washing hands after ! Finally my food came up and the server and manager came out with the food and I mentioned about why the beef dip sat there for that long . Manager mumbled something then walked away … our server Haley was great way she handled it all ! But the chicken supreme shrunk … was way smaller than last time I ordered it and of course they changed providers. It was dry and the sauce was tasteless . I barely ate all of it . Again , Haley was very accommodating and the manager was aware of our concerns and not once did she come out to correct it with us ! Just stood around in the servers station …only reason ( if we do ) we would come back is because of Haley’s service … normally food is good there but wow shrink the chicken and up the price !? Def won’t order that again ! Whomever owns this place I suggest to talk to your manager and give her some advice on how to communicate with unhappy customers ! Thank you Haley for great service...

We decided to try here on a whim after we were unable to get in where we originally planned and were pleasantly surprised and glad we came here. First off having the hostess come out and hold the door for you and greet you with a smile, very welcoming. The decor and atmosphere was great. You don't feel crowded at all and my husband loved where we sat. In front of at least a 70" tv with the hockey game on. Various sitting options as well. We ordered calamari to start and it was done perfect and whatever dip they have with it, amazing. My husband ordered the bbq burger the one with three chipotle mayo. It wasn't what he was expecting at all but was so glad he ordered it. It was expecting it to be heavy in the bbq side of things but it wasn't. He said everything blended so well and it had just enough of a bite. He said hands down the best burger he had SMS the fries were spot on. I ordered the sirloin with mushrooms and pearl potatoes and omg, this was exactly what I was wanting. I like my steak medium rare and that's exactly how it came.
