You'll never forget this place, it has to be my favorite restaurant in North America. Walk in and you're greeted by the most spectacular view, overlooking a sound with mountains on the other side that the sun sets over. You can experience this indoors looking out across two continuous walls of 12-ft walls of glass, or you can dine outside on the top of a cliff.
I digress; back to restaurant. Cuisine: Freshest North-Pacific seafood I've had, and I'm convinced the halibut is the best in the world (great in all forms, but with it they've perfected fish & chips). Appetizers are unique & delightful across the board. Remember: this is a restaurant that hangs over the ocean, near the top of the world, so you come here for the seafood, not the steaks. If you -do- order the steaks, then you're the equivalent of a tourist asking a Patagonian steakhouse for a Happy Meal--I don't consider the kid's menu in this ranking, and again, you're an idiot if you don't get the seafood. (6/5)
Atmosphere: 6/5 (check out the pictures, and then realize they can't capture a sunset over the mountains, or the truly international character of the patronage.
Staff: Very good at what they do, yet without the stuffy 5-star etiquette. (4.75/5)
Beer, Sprits, & Wine: Roughly 25 taps of great beer, damn fine wine selection, and the listed cocktails seem solid though I'm not a fan of liquor and as such can't speak to the bartenders' skills. (5/5)
Underview: If you can, go....
Read moreMy wife and I had the pleasure of dining at the Waterfront Restaurant in Prince Rupert, BC, Canada, and I must say, it was an excellent experience. The ambiance was lovely, with a picturesque view of the ocean adding to the overall charm.
I got the Blackened Chicken Sandwich while my wife got the Cowgirl Salad, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The Cowgirl Salad was a delightful mix of fresh greens, flavorful toppings, and a perfectly balanced dressing. It was a refreshing and satisfying choice.
The Blackened Chicken Sandwich was a highlight of the meal. The chicken was expertly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor from the blackening seasoning. The combination of ingredients in the sandwich created a delightful harmony of tastes and textures.
For dessert, we ordered the classic Deep Fried Ice Cream. The outer shell of the dish was made up of sweet cornflakes, and this layer of cornflakes were covering a tasty scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was rich, creamy, and refreshing. The perfect dessert to get at the Crest Hotel.
The service at the Waterfront Restaurant was exceptional. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, adding to the overall enjoyment of the meal.
Overall, my dining experience at the Waterfront Restaurant was top-notch. The delicious food, stunning view, and excellent service made it a memorable visit, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting...
Read moreWas here for dinner last week it took them 20 minutes to finally come to our table and take our drink orders, another 15 minutes for the drinks to come (we all ordered water) and then another 20 to take our food orders. After waiting an hour for our food we were just about to leave when finally it came out, cold. It did not make sense to us that it took so long for our meals to come seeing as 3 tables who arrived after us and ordered practically the same meals got theirs before we did. We asked our waitress why it took so long and she could not give us an honest excuse, stating that the kitchen serves the restaurant and the bar and so it is very busy...? When the waitress came to clear our table she dropped my dirty cutlery into my lap and when I asked her to bring me a napkin she instead went inside and did not come back out to the patio where we were for the rest of our meal, avoiding our table. It was only after I went inside and followed her to the bar when we were leaving and reminded her that she was supposed to get me a napkin that she acknowledged me AND SHE STILL DIDN'T GET ME THE DAMN NAPKIN. The view and patio are truly stunning and the food was alright even though it was cold but the service was really awful and we will not be visiting again. If you want a great, affordable restaurant in Prince Rupert go to Opa Sushi at 34 Cow Bay, hands down the best food we had...
