had the tasting menu at fukasaku, which was 5 courses + dessert. tuna tataki salad: delicious sauce with marinated tuna appy with skeena smoked salmon potato salad, beet and salmon gomae, and sunomono: this was my fav! the sunomono was not too sour, and the smoked salmon blended perfectly with the potato. northwest ramen with tuna, striped prawns, spot prawn head, spinach, and egg: the broth on this was so tasty and refreshing, i just wish it came with a little bit more broth since the noodles soaked it up pretty quickly pan fried prawn: enjoyed the simplicity of the dish. the prawns were perfectly salted. sushi platter: the nigiri and sashimi were super fresh and all locally caught. It was my first time trying a dungeness crab roll and it was delicious. I will say that this is the 3rd dish in a row with prawn, which was getting a little repetitive ginger spruce creme...

We went to this place specifically because they advertised the fact that they used real Wasabi, not the fake horseradish stuff. We were willing to pay the higher prices for what appeared to be higher quality food with the hopes that we would get to try this special delicacy. We were we ordered and only after we ordered and had began drinking or drinks did the waitress tell us that they were out of the real wasabi. By this time it was at the end of the day, we were tired, and we really needed something to eat. We were all very frustrated and some of us just wanted to get up and leave, but we decided to stay and eat. The sushi was average, it was nothing special, we've been to many other places with similar if not better food.

The only reason to go to this place would be to try real wasabi, but apparently you have to call ahead to make sure that they have...

What a gem of a place. The best food, hands down, that we've had in Prince Rupert. I'm from Vancouver and this would rival the best Japanese food there easily. Insanely fresh, melt in your mouth fish. We had the sushi and sashimi platter and it was a wonderful mix of sushi rolls, sashimi and nigiri. We also had a vegetarian roll with cucumber, avocado topped with mushrooms and it was one of the highlights of the meal. I can't imagine anything here tasting anything but incredible. Great service even though there's only one server. The chef is Japanese and you can tell the attention and care he puts into every dish. Make reservations as it's small and they fill up my quickly. This is a must visit place if you're in...

Probably some of the best ramen and sushi I’ve ever had (because it’s guaranteed locally sourced and the chef is incredibly talented and dedicated to his restaurant!). I can’t hype the food up enough. The atmosphere is quiet but very welcoming and the view of the harbour is incredible! (Also the price is very fair- considering we live 9+ hours from the ocean and pay more at our seafood places for fish that is not fresh!).
