We recently visited Quebec on a family vacation and were taking a tour the final morning. It was incredibly hot and humid and our 12 year old daughter Serafina passed out from heat stroke right in front of 1884. It was terrifying to say the least.
The 1884 owner, Jeff, immediately jumped into action. He explained that he was a paramedic and proceeded to take care of our daughter without hesitation, informing us each step of the way what was happening. He opened the cafe to us as a place for her to recover and didn’t leave our side until she was safe in our car- his generosity, kindness, quick thinking, and commitment to her health was one of the greatest acts of kindness I’ve experienced.
