This extremely cozy & charming small restaurant in Quebec City is one of those places that transports you back in time with the rustic vibe and dishes and truly attentive service .
We had made reservations few weeks in advance and glad we did as this place will fill up quick .
The staff was very friendly and our waitress explained the menu to us . The menu does have a theme of rabbit based dishes and duck.
We asked for some gin based cocktails and she recommended some of the local gins to try and their flavor profiles . We tried the floral version of a Gin Tonic and the herbal version of their Negroni . Both were outstanding and went well with our main courses .
As it’s not every day you find cassoulet on menus , we got both versions to try . The rabbit leg and the duck leg (not pictured) . Their version is less heavy than other cassoulet but this is a good thing . The duck sausage is juicy and memorable as it sits on top of a bed of properly prepared beans and rustic cut carrots . Small pieces of lardon are caramelized adding their unique depth of flavor to the dish . Rabbit leg is well prepared and maintains its juicy flavor without having dried out . It’s a challenging kind of protein that can easily dry out . It here ! They know their rabbit here !
A plus was our waitress asked about gluten free and could omit breadcrumbs on top of the cassoulet.
Desert menu we tried the maple syrup crème brulle which was light and maple tines shined though.
A great location and cozy restaurant that you need to visit.Make sure reservations are made in advance . Step outside after dinner at night and enjoy the prime...

We were lucky to grab a table for two early in the evening for dinner. The restaurant was full of guests but there remained a pleasant, cozy ambience with its gentle lighting as well as a clear view through the windows to the street out front. The staff helping us was friendly and patient when we gave our orders in English.
To start, we had the French Onion Soup and Cheese Fondue and those came with plenty of fresh bread and butter. The cheese in the soup was stringy and different from the cheese in the fondue. The rich onion flavours in the soup also made it a great dip for the bread. Together with our delightful cocktails, anticipation for the mains was building.
The rabbit themed signage at the door and on the menu made an obvious dish suggestion. We ordered the Rabbit Leg Cassoulet and the Duck Cured Meats Platter as our mains. The cassoulet was cooked well and the rabbit leg was juicy and tender. There were plenty of vegetables which added heft to the hearty stock.
The Cured Meats Platter was beautifully arranged and tasted as good as it looked. It was a lot of fun mixing and matching the different meats and crackers as we worked our way around the platter.
Overall, we really felt having dinner here made our short stay in Quebec City a memorable experience. We would recommend it to anyone, but especially to anyone who is not the most au fait with...
Read moreWe dined at this restaurant around 7:30 PM today on the terrace. While the food was good, the service we received from our waitress was extremely disappointing. After we finished our meal, she came to clear the plates but didn't pick them up herself. Instead, she silently placed her hand next to the plates, signaling for us to hand them to her — without a single word. At first, I was thinking maybe the plates were hard to reach, which I could totally understand. However, the situation got worse. When she brought the bill, she didn't place it gently on the table but held it in front of my friend, waiting for her to take it without saying anything. Since we were in the middle of a conversation, my friend didn't notice right away. The waitress then sighed and, with clear impatience, slapped the bill down on the table. To make matters worse, the bills were mixed up, and we had to sort them ourselves by checking the prices on the menu. When we finished paying, she snatched the POS machine from our hands, again with very rough and unpleasant gestures. This experience completely ruined our day. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this time it was unacceptable. What disturbed me even more was that the table next to us — a group of white customers — praised her service highly after their meal. It makes me wonder: was the hostility and rough treatment we received because of our Asian appearance?
For the dishes, I would still recommend rabbit pot pie....
