Based on my personal experience, I don't understand how this restaurant is rated 4.7. I had a reservation at 7 pm, I got there on time and before me there was a group that has issues with their reservation. The hostess took around 15 minutes to fix their issue while myself and other people were waiting to be seated. Didn't see a manager step in to help get us seated while the hostess fixed the groups reservation issue. After being seated, I ordered a drink and 2 appetizers, I got a beef tartare and their Mac n cheese. The beef tartare was ok at best, it lacked flavor but it wasn't bad. The Mac n cheese felt like it was packaged or had processed cheese on it. For a restaurant on this caliber I expected better. I also wanted to get fried calamari and asked if it's frozen calamari and was told that it was which again should not be the case when selling appetizers at 18-30$. If I wanted frozen food, I'd stay home. For my main course I ordered the tomahawk steak black and blue. With its thickness it should take a maximum of 5-6 minutes per side, even less. From the moment I finished my appetizers, it took them 50 minutes to serve me the steak. Then when I asked to speak to the manager to explain how it's not ok for it to take this long, expecting the manager to welcome the feedback, I had pushback and excuses from him. He then proceeded to offer me a free drink which I declined because I already had enough drinks, so he just said ok and left without trying to offer to comp a part of the bill or offer a dessert which I would've probably declined, but when you have a client who spent 300$ on a single person, you try to make him happy. The steak itself was also ok, on a good quality tomahawk the ratio of fat to meat should be around 30-40% fat, my tomahawk was easily 80% fat, I barely had any meat, at least the cook was perfect, one redeeming factor of the whole experience. Overall I was very disappointed. The prices are too high for the quality of...
Read moreOur recent visit to Steak Avenue was overall a delightful dining experience, with a few notable areas for improvement. The food was undeniably delicious, especially the surf and turf. The steak was cooked to perfection. However, we found the portions of seafood a bit smaller than expected, leaving us wanting just a little more.
The service was excellent, and we were particularly impressed by the use of innovative technology that enhances the dining experience. Steak Avenue employs a unique system where diners can touch a cube to request service, allowing staff to provide attentive service only when needed and otherwise leave you to enjoy your meal. We found this feature both practical and refreshing.
The ambiance inside the restaurant was pleasant, creating a comfortable atmosphere for dining. That said, the location itself is a bit lacking—it feels like walking into an office building, which doesn’t quite set the mood for a high-end steakhouse.
Our biggest disappointment, however, was the pricing of the top-shelf scotch. The cost was disproportionately high, with three drinks making up more than half of our total bill, which included two surf and turf entrees. While we understand premium pricing, the markup here felt excessive.
In summary, Steak Avenue offers delicious food and excellent service with some modern touches that enhance the experience. There is room for improvement in terms of portion sizes and pricing, especially for premium drinks, and the location could use a...
Read moreIt took over 10 minutes before we received any service for just some water. We eventually had to go ask ourselves, and it felt like we were bothering them. The music stopped at 8:40 PM and stayed off until I asked to a employee if that was normal.
On the positive side, the French onion soup was delicious, and the cocktails were strong with a well-balanced mix.
I should mention, however, that we came on a Sunday — perhaps the team is smaller on that day compared to during the week. We'll give it another try sometime soon.
Our server, though not very experienced, was excellent and extremely kind. The service from her was great. The initial service we received wasn't from her, and I believe the staff should rotate or be better managed — it's clear that some employees are visibly annoyed when you ask them for something.
For the Surf 'n Turf meal on Avenue, the 6oz filet mignon was cooked Pittsburgh-style and was absolutely spot on — great doneness, fresh product, and well-cooked vegetables. However, the shrimp were significantly overcooked, which made the texture quite unpleasant.
The cooking of my filet mignon was perfect, and the garlic mashed potatoes were exquisite — I highly...
