The Golden Valley Restaurant — Restaurant in Quinte West

For every special occasion in our family, we've chosen Golden Valley; anniversaries, birthdays, promotions. The service has always been great, and at one time, the food was amazing. And for the price point, the food should be amazing. We dined at Golden Valley tonight to celebrate the grandparents (86 and 80 respectively) 62nd wedding anniversary. We ordered 6 meals (3 of the prime rib) and a single Bruschetta appetizer. The bruschetta was really just bread with tomatoes and onions (which yes, does a bruschetta comprise) but we were prepared to live with that. What really turned us off our dinner (and ultimately lead to me writing this review) were the caesar salads we were served. Don't get me wrong, I like garlic. Love it even. But the dressing the salad was tossed in was so packed full of garlic I immediately became nausious and couldn't enjoy my dinner because my taste buds were coated in the sting of strong garlic. My partner ordered only a salad for dinner, and could only manage a few bites before the garlic became too much. We informed our server, had the salad removed, and were told that "the dressing is usually garlicky, but depending on who's back there, it could be even stronger". No alternative was offered, but we assumed that maybe the salad would be removed from the final bill. It was not. My husband and I visited for a date night. The service was fantastic. We loved that you didn't feel pushed out! It was done exactly as it should be. We got our starter, when we finished with that we were brought out our salads and finally our main course. It wasn't like most places where you order a starter and meal and the waitress is piling your table with everything you ordered within minutes of each other! Very relaxed ☺️. I ordered the salmon with hollandaise... Salmon was good but the hollandaise sauce lacked flavor. Everything else about my meal was fantastic. My husband ordered the chicken parm with fries... He loved that it was real chicken, and could have swore that the sauce was homemade. He ordered tzatziki sauce to dip his fries in but said that the tzatziki was not as thick as he normally likes but the flavor was fantastic. The atmosphere is very outdated.... We wished that they possibly could have more low lighting. Seemed a little bright for a date night! Our waitress was top notch... A Hidden Gem in Trenton – A Must-Visit!

I had the pleasure of dining at The Golden Valley Restaurant in Trenton, ON, and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. For appetizers, I had the spinach dip and garlic bread with cheese. The spinach dip was absolutely phenomenal — creamy, fresh, and bursting with flavor. It came served with both pita bread and chips, and I can honestly say it was one of the best spinach dips I’ve ever had. The garlic bread with cheese was perfectly baked, offering the right balance of crispiness and melt-in-your-mouth goodness.

For the main course, I opted for the veggie pizza, and it was just as impressive. The pizza dough was fresh and perfectly crisp, while the pizza sauce was made from scratch and had a vibrant, rich flavor that paired wonderfully with the fresh toppings.

Beyond the food, the ambiance at The Golden Valley is truly unique. The restaurant has these gorgeous bronze accents that give it a warm, inviting feel. It really does make you feel like you’ve stepped into a “golden valley”—a relaxing and special atmosphere unlike anywhere else in Trenton.
