Yesterday I took my family members to Dose Riverfront for a coffee. We especially drove there as it is a little off the beaten track. Sadly the experience was not worth the drive. I requested my Americano to be made with extra extra extra room for cream as this is how I enjoy it. When I received the coffee it was full, I requested some to be poured out, the man rolled his eyes and poured out very little but sadly the crema was poured out too. I then asked if more could please be poured out as it was still not enough and the man got clearly irritated with lots of eye rolling. I then told him that he was been extremely rude and that my coffee which I paid $4 for was now ruined. No apology, no offer to remake it the way it was ordered. I posted a review on Facebook about my experience and was told that I was inappropriate and rude and that next time I should go elsewhere for coffee. I see this seems to be their normal response as I was sent a similar DOSE response from a friend who found a past negative review on FB. There were a few responses of other people in support of my review but since ALL of them were negative towards DOSE they have now removed my post. I love supporting local however this local experience was awful. We will never return. I sincerely hope others are never treated in this way. DOSE take responsibility for your poor service instead of making excuses and blaming, it will get you much further in...
Read moreEarly this morning I went in to Dose after promising to buy my newly-4-year-old one of the pricey cold-pressed juices that they sell for his birthday treat. (Usually I wouldn’t spend that money on a single juice for my young child but we had gotten one weeks before that he loved). Unfortunately, after purchasing, my son dropped the bottle by accident. The bottle broke, and I gathered up the pieces, but the owner working told me to leave it and he would clean it.. Obviously my son was really sad and crying and (since it was a special occasion) I told him I would buy another because “accidents happen”. I told the owner I wanted to buy another and he refused to sell us another stating that he just wanted to clean up the mess and get ready for the day..? I just stood there feeling jarred and stunned because I felt like he was trying to punish us for my child accidentally dropping something, that we had already paid for, and I had TRIED to start cleaning up already.. I have been going to this place pretty regularly since I moved to Red Deer in 2019.
I will not be returning after this.
All I can say is I deeply hope this was a miscommunication somehow.. Really, really...
Read moreSame owner and staff (from what I've heard) so they're consistent with the downtown location! This is like the dark room version of the downtown location because the cafe is literally painted black. I really love this! Super aesthetic. This location is calmer than the downtown one, likely because not many people are around Riverfront for business or school, but this location is a treat! You can sit outside the cafe and enjoy a view of the river and see Bower ponds. Very quiet location!
Drinks shown here are the espresso in the back and a chai tea (you pour it into a small cup!) Both are enjoyable! A perk at this location that's different than downtown os2if you request for water your barista will serve it in a tall glass pitcher with a stick of charcoal in it. This makes for a very refreshing palate cleanser!
Snack shown is from the summer! An example of their creativeness! This was a peach frosty that they made in shop! Sooooo so good! They make delicious treats at random in the summer so watch for...
