We stopped at Famoso in Red Deer for a late dinner on our way back from Abraham Lake, and it turned out to be a great choice! Overall, the food was quite good—if the portions were slightly bigger and the spaghetti cooked a bit more "al dente," it would have been perfect. A special shoutout to our waitress, Tara, for her exceptional service. I had misunderstood the daily special “Caesar,” thinking it was a salad when it was actually a drink. Tara handled the situation gracefully, immediately replacing it with a Caesar salad without making us feel awkward. Her kindness really stood out! To top it all off, the Apple Crumble Skillet and Affogato were absolutely delicious and made for a perfect ending to our meal. We would happily return and recommend Famoso for anyone looking for a great dining experience in Red Deer!

Great place to eat for both lunch and supper. Great deals if you catch happy hour (4-6 and 8 on) including $4 beer and $4 bruschetta. The pizzas are why we keep returning, and make sure to try their tomatoes bisque. Service is always friendly but can sometimes take a bit longer during lunches. I miss some of the old pizzas they used to have on the menu (for example, the Thai one). Unfortunately, the last time I was in, most of the brussel sprouts on my my pizza were burnt on the tips and left that flavour in my mouth. I don’t mind a bit of the burnt flavour, it was just a bit too much. I didn’t say anything to the server because the food has always been perfect every visit prior, and I’ve been over two dozen times. Make sure to stop if you’ve never been before.

We stopped in tonight for a date night. The food was super delicious and the staff were really nice. Amanda was great, we didn’t feel rushed when we couldn’t decide on what to order as it was our first time here and she checked in to make sure everything was good. We got the Bruschetta, the Wiseguy sandwich with a bowl of tomato bisque soup, and the Capricciosa pizza. Everything was so good and the pizza crust was definitely homemade! We also took a tiramisu to go and it was phenomenal! My only reason for not giving a 5 star is that the pizza crust end was a tad dry towards the end of the meal so maybe a little butter on the ends or some olive oil to keep it when it comes out of the oven but other than that, it was great! We’ll definitely be back!

Great food and staff, have been going for years now and only had poor service twice(sadly two weeks ago was last one)I feel I should update this review, we are regulars at this particular restaurant (every Saturday for lunch) two years ago it was great food and service and I stand by that inital review, unfortunately I had to knock a star off due to some changes, two weeks in a row the meat lovers pizza arrived wet and soggy and had to be sent back to cook a bit more, today I had the linguine and meatballs but was not informed that they were not the pork and ricotta ones until I asked after the meal and was informed thst they were on back order(?), I was under the impression that they were home made and ordered in, the replacement ones were very below the standards we are used to and tasted like they came out of a can of chef boy r dee and had no flavour other then poor quality pork, if I was a food critic and not just an average person who has been going for years this review could be worse. I would have liked to be informed that the meatballs this time were not the same ones and maybe a few bucks knocked off in compensation until they can make the other ones once again, as for the pizza a soggy wet watery pizza is well below the standard with the toppings sliding off and not even dry enough for them to not all come off in one bite. Sorry for the removal of a star but it seems like corners are being cut that were not in the past.

4/16update things seem to be back up to par great food attentive staff (staff were always attentive I might add) not that we stopped coming but we are enjoying the atmosphere once more, look forward to coming back...

So the first time I walk in here..... I was greeted with a warm welcome by the bartender, and literally saw two other staff members giving me and my friend big smiles. . . Immediately I felt like I was in a friendly environment. . The greeter said I could sit where ever I felt comfortable..... (which is nice considering most greeters sit you where they want you to sit.... Which quite often is not a place I would have chose.) They were fairly busy yet the waitress we had was fast to deliver menus and get our drinks on the way. The bartender didn't have what I was asking for so he let me have a free sample of something similar, in order to see if I would be happy with that. . like seriously? . Who does that these days? That was awesome. Our waitress had great attitude and a big smile while taking our food order. . She also suggested an awesome pizza cause I was indecisive and wanted to try something new. . Less than 10 minutes and our food was being delivered by the bartender as the waitress was busy with other customers. It was nice to see them working as a team rather than our meals sitting there getting cold till our waitress was free. We didn't have to wait for refills on our drinks and over-all.... . I give this restaurant a 5 star rating. Very clean, quiet, professional and modern. . Would be a great place to stop for a quick bite, or to host a business dinner with colleagues.

Turns out..... That bartender. . Was the manager. His name is Ryan. . Go say hi sometime.!! He's a great guy. I commended his establishment as I was leaving. . . I love great service and like helping others know where to go if they want a good...

Famoso in Red Deer is without a doubt my favorite spot for pizza, and every visit just reminds me why. The food is consistently fantastic and full of flavor. The Mozza Balls are an absolute standout, soft, creamy mozzarella wrapped in savory prosciutto, served with a rich tomato sauce and the perfect toasted bread. The Meat Lovers Pizza is loaded with hearty toppings and so satisfying, while the Margherita Pizza is wonderfully light and fresh, showcasing simple, authentic flavors. To balance it all, the Blue Cheese Salad is creamy, tangy, and refreshing, a perfect side to their pizzas. What truly elevates the dining experience is the service and atmosphere. Brandie, my server, was exceptional, attentive without hovering, warm and genuinely friendly, and incredibly professional. She made sure everything was just right, anticipated needs before I even asked, and added a personal touch that made me feel like a valued guest. Her menu knowledge and thoughtful recommendations only enhanced the evening. I also have to compliment the management team at Famoso Red Deer. Over time, I’ve noticed how well the restaurant is run and how it continuously improves. Whether it’s the consistency of the food, the attentiveness of the staff, or the little details in how the restaurant operates, it’s clear that strong, thoughtful management is behind the scenes. As a customer, those improvements are noticeable and appreciated, it really shows in the overall dining experience. Famoso Red Deer has it all delicious food, outstanding service, and excellent management. It’s always my go-to spot, and I can’t...
