I pre-ordered a few items for lunch, as I was passing by on a Sunday. That's where this Vietnamese Restaurant received a 5th star - they're open on a Sunday! There is only 2 vietnamese places to choose from on a Sunday, if there is a craving you need to fill. I went with the Spicy Beef Satay sub sandwich - stuffed with a generous amount of ingredients, flavourful & spicy, very soft interior to the bun with a slight crunch to the exterior. Perfect experience. I also added a "regular" size Spicy Beef Pho soup with choice of thick noodles - it was big. Can I just stop here and say, thank you to the restaurant! Turns out after I picked up my Sunday lunch, I got called back to work and did not get enjoy my lunch until two hours later! However, thanks to the restaurant they had wrapped the soup container in a plastic bag, as well as double wrapped the sandwich keeping it soft. I'm truly thankful they did this prep work because on my way back to work the soup container in the bag tilted over a bit on the floor in my backseat, but because everything in the bag was protected- there was no mess whatsoever! The winning moment was later on, when I did have the chance to warm up the pho and didn't need to with sub...it was seriously still outrageously delicious- all of it. This restaurant wins on so many levels. Including the kind lady at the Till taking everyone's payment- the restaurant was BEYOND busy and she was very calm, kind and helped everyone at her counter that either wanted to pay, pick-up, or had a question. Wonderful food, service, reasonably priced items, serving size, and location. Oh I'm definitely going back to enjoy more!...
Read moreEasily my favorite restaurant in red deer the food is top notch quality with generous proportions (like in usually have atleast a lunch or maybe a supper from the leftovers and I'm a pretty big guy) at a pretty reasonable price like barley more than fast food I can't comment on everything on the menu as I usually just get one of the vermicelli but the few other things I've tried have been really good including right about the only good tofu I've had in a restaurant (who knew that deep frying things made them taste better lol)
My recommendation with the vermicelli though is to not bother with adding curry as while it's still good it's not as good as the regular version. Then be sure to add a decent bit of hosin, fish sauce, and maybe chilling flakes or Sriracha if you like a bit of spice
My sole complaint would be they glasses they used for water. While I'm pretty confident they're fine the clearly pretty old and look a little scuzzy. But even with that said ive been here many times and plan to...
Read moreDid a take out order for the first time from here. The place has high ratings and was busy for in restaurant dining, however, the take out Pho was disappointing to say the least. The broth was the only thing good about it and sadly I put more love in to my homemade broth than this restaurant does. There were no sprouts and a hand written not on the top of the undercooked noodles box saying sorry for no sprouts. The meat was supposed to be beef, beef ball, brisket, tripe and tendon. We got the beef, the beef ball and the worst tendon I've ever had in a soup. No tripe, no brisket. As well we got a small wedge of lime but no basil leaf, scallion or onion of any type. Very poor representation of a staple Vietnamese dish. The price was good if it had been even a good dish, but wasn't. Hard to screw up such a simple thing,...
