13th Ave Coffee House is one of my go-tos whenever I’m visiting Regina! They’re one of the few places that cater to the vegan community with fresh, delicious, and healthy food. For my lunch today I decided to stray from my usual Cathedral Burger and opted for the Mediterranean Bowl with extra falafel and no feta/tzatziki to make it vegan. Since I was ordering to-go, there wasn’t an opportunity for me to taste it until I got home. Unfortunately, the brown rice base was very undercooked, like crunchy and hard. Luckily the falafel was still ok (though a little dry) but the point of the bowl is to mix everything together and enjoy the whole experience. Eating “around the rice” was not pleasant and had I not been so hungry I would’ve tossed the whole thing out. You can see in the photo that the rice is still transparent in places.

A small cafe in what used to be a home. Feels quite cozy. Definitely limited seating inside as there about 8 tables (2 persons per table but can be squished together for larger groups). There is outside seating as well, which is nice for when it is nicer outside. Food is pretty amazing and can be quite filling depending on what you order. I had the falafel wrap which was really filling and quite good, and the girlfriend had the mushroom burger which was amazing (might even be better than Hunter Gatherer Vegetarian Diner's version)! Coffee was really good, but I have to say the raspberry chocolate cookie was the highlight for me. It was essentially a brownie with raspberry jam on it, but it was amazing! Would highly recommend it.

13th Avenue Food and Coffee is a quaint establishment in a historic house. It's an adorable space and there's also a patio outside for sunnier days. They have a large menu of various food items and beverages. Lots of variety and the food is quite good. The service however felt very rushed and terse. There was no room for conversation or questions on this day. It certainly felt rushed. The lady also was outwardly upset at a food order pickup driver and was forcefully telling him to go around the outside. If you can overlook the service, 13th Avenue is a great experience! 4 x 🥪🥪🥪🥪

My husband and I were in town visiting with family and we were drawn to the little cafe since the day we arrived. There is no accessible entrance, but for those with limited to full mobility, there are only a handful of stairs to climb. The inside is a calm ambience with music that provides a very chill atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They are also very knowledgeable of the items on their menu, especially since there’s so much to choose from. I ordered the chai rooibus tea with oat milk (this is caffeine free) and I enjoyed every sip. I also ordered the vegan chocolate mousse, and it DID NOT disappoint! It was rich but so worth every spoonful. My husband ordered the everything bagel with their red pepper cream cheese and he was very pleased. It looked quite tasty, unfortunately with it not being GF I wasn’t able to try it. Overall we thought it was a very nice spot and if we lived here, it would definitely be our “go to” morning...

This is the cafe where 19 years ago, I met my wife. We moved out of Regina a short while after, so it's been a while.

Things have changed. I expected that. You wouldn't know it from the outside, or from the inside decor, but it's a very different place than we remember.

I asked for a salmon salad sandwich, but gosh geepers it was a little before 11am, and my request was cheerfully refused. Well fine then. I'll have coffee here, we'll dine elsewhere for lunch. My wife cancelled her lunch as well, but wanted the drink she had on that day 19 years ago. She was admonished that hot apple cider was only available in winter. Good heavens. What rubes we must have seemed! So she had coffee.

They must be doing exceptionally well here, to be able to refuse business so cheerfully and with such conviction.

I do have to add, that my Cafe Latte and my wife's Cafe aux Lait were nicely made. So there was...

I really wanted to give another chance to this place, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The food was below average, and what stood out more than anything was how unfriendly and unprofessional the staff were.

There was a noticeable lack of warmth or hospitality. One of the employees seemed overwhelmed and anxious—even though there were only two customers at the time. While I can understand stress in a work environment, the attitude made the atmosphere tense and uncomfortable.

To top it off, we noticed that the person ahead of us had been incorrectly charged, which didn’t inspire much confidence in the service overall. We really miss the previous person who worked here—there was a clear difference in energy and care.

Sadly, I won’t be coming back. I hope the team here takes steps to improve both the food and the...
