I love this place, I've been going for maybe 2 or 3 years and it's probably my favourite restaurant.
Service is always friendly, welcoming and accommodating, no matter whose working or what time. I had a birthday here one year and the staff was kind enough to allow us to bring an outside cake and even gave us plates for it :] (we asked when we made resverations if we could)
Food's always delicous and they've never forgotten anything or a modifaction. They also have really good fries despite the theme of Korean-Japanese (they of course have good in theme food too). Their gyoza, fried chicken, kalbi, kimchi, and miso soup are all things I'd recommend.
The atmosphere is very chill and calming, it's nice but not formal. It's very welcoming and soothing.
If I had to say one thing that could be improved on, it would probably be accessibilty. This may be because of how the building was built before, but the only way up, to my knowledge, to the Cafe is stairs, no ramp. They might have a side door that can be used, but I haven't seen it or have seen any wheelchair users in there. The bathrooms may also not be big enough for a wheelchair user to transfer seats, but I don't know.
Overall, I love this place, it's one of my go-to places and I will...
Read moreWent for lunch with my partner to try their version of Bi Bim Bap a dish that I love and have had in many different places outside of Regina.
The server was mostly pleasant, the food took a Lillie long to arrive.
My dish was Bi Bim Bap in a hot stone bowl with Kimchi. I was pretty excited...until it arrived...it had big pile of unmelted shredded cheese.
Now I am lactose intolerant, I didn't read cheese being in the dish on the menu. I could have been mistaken. I didn't check the menu again as I was becoming very interested in the place.
I explained to the server that I was lactose intolerant and was informed that I couldn't have a new one unless I paid for two because I didn't tell them. My medical information, my privacy. I made the mistake of assuming.
I paid for the dish as it can get sketchy as to weather they produced what they were supposed too or is it really them making poor choices in dish construction. The cheese was the first time I had ever experienced cheese in this traditional Korean dish. This place says they are fusion so, ok put cheese on I guess...but gross.
I won't be back and can't recommend.
Be careful...
Read moreI came here with my partner at 5 PM. We were greeted and seated promptly. There were plenty of available seats and only a couple other groups there at the time. Our server was friendly and personable, and gave great recommendations for the menu based off of our preferences to spice, sweetness, etc. We started off with some Sake, volcano rolls, and dumplings. They were enough to share and were very good. There were plenty of options for Sake and plenty of flavored options to choose from. Being unfamiliar with Sake, out server was able to give good insight as to what preferences we might have. We ended up getting a plain cold Sake as it was very hot out and it was refreshing! We both got hot bowls, one regular and one kimchi. The bowl was pretty spicey and was very filling. The restaurant was very cool both setting wise and temperature wise. The sever was avaliable without being overbearing, and gave us plenty of time to just hang out after eating. I look forward to...
