It's been a few years since I've been here, as both the food and service had really gone downhill. Decided to give it another try because there are a few rolls that I haven't found anywhere else. Plus, while they do have regular tables and chairs, they also have a zashiki style seating area, where you take your shoes off and sit on the floor (they also have the sunken floor area for your feet, making it a little more comfy)!!!
Things have REALLY turned around here! The staff were so engaging and attentive! The food is back on track and so tasty! Even the inside has had a few changes made. Definitely a 180 from the last time I visited; makes me wonder if maybe there is new ownership.
The Stir Fry Udon, Japchae, Hawaii roll (all pictured) are hands down my top 3 fave things on the menu! The egg and cheese (also pictured) is also super tasty, made with tamago (sweet egg) and cream cheese! And if you're looking for something fairly unique to here, try the Oshinko roll (pickled radish, not pictured)! The Beef Tataki on the supper menu is also super delish and should not be overlooked!!!
The washrooms, ladies specifically, is in a sad state of disrepair and in definite need of repairs. One stall door you need to fight to lock and the other stall had no toilet seat... in the ladies. The sink was clogged and half full of gross used water. The ceiling fan appears to never have been cleaned. Personally, I would recommend avoiding using the washroom if at all possible!! Had I not used the ladies washroom, hands down I would have given a 5 star review!!!
If you've never been, you're missing out! If you stopped going because it wasn't any good a while ago, you need to give it another try! However, plan to avoid using the...

The space is slightly older, but still clean. Small parking lot out front compared to number of available seating.
They have a cool area at the back end where you can sit on the floor for a more authentic experience (there’s holes in the floor for your legs so you don’t need to sit on your knees or cross legged).
You’re given a paper menu where you check off what you’d like (numbers to indicate how many servings you want of each. Be mindful that rolls and shareable come as numerous portions already). You can order up to three separate times. They have laminated menus on the table for you to refer to. Some items are lacking description though so it can be a barrier if you’re picky or not super adventurous to just try something without knowing what’s in it.
Food comes out as it’s prepared so you don’t get it all at once, it’s just constantly being delivered and plates taken away. It’s a quick turn around from the order being placed to items coming out.
For the sushi- they had a decent rice to content ratio so you aren’t feeling jipped on quality. Portion sizes are small to prevent food wasting but that’s why you can order more than once. Unfortunately it’s also how you get full fast and don’t get to indulge unless you want to feel overly full on the way out.
Prices were affordable for the fact it’s all you can eat.
I didn’t have the best time as I wasn’t alone and didn’t get to pick the items I normally prefer. However the food was good and id definitely return and recommend it to others if they inquired.
Next time...
Read moreJust very disappointed in the misinformation we were given as soon as we walked in. Didn't realize it was all you can eat, upon arrival I asked the server what the price was for kids and she pointed at a sign near their computer that showed kids as $13. I thought, oh perfect, that will do as our kids are tiny eaters and we tend to avoid buffets when we are out with them due to the price not being worth it. She was very quick to get us seated, clearly seeing our children and I'm sure knowing that they would not qualify for the age limit, which is not posted anywhere. When we went to pay, she then asked the age of the kids. When we said our son was 10, she handed us the bill and had charged us for 4 adults (daughter is 15, so fair for her for sure) The children's age has to be 5-9. And not only was the $13 only for lunch which she clearly pointed to that, it's $19 for dinner for kids. But not only that, he was charged as an adult which is $31 or something around there. Aside from that absurd pricing for a kid, the food was barely ok. The rolls were not good. Flavorless and thrown together carelessly. We actually spit the sashimi out as it was not right. The appetizers and udon were good. I had a white wine that didn't come until about 20 minutes into the meal and I had to ask for it, and it was warm. It's unfortunate because we have a lack of good sushi options in the city, but sad to say we won't be going back here. We will stick to our family...
