Montana’s BBQ & Bar — Restaurant in Regina

Have stopped at this location many times!! This time was a bit different and a few things were noted!! Upon entering was greeted by the hostesses. She was about to seat us but we had requested a booth. It was not busy yet there were many tables that had not been cleaned off from previous customers. We waited a few moments as our hostesses cleaned a booth for us. She returned to us to seat us. The booth that was cleaned for us was slapped together as per cleaning!!! No cutlery was put on our table. There was food from the previous customer left on the seat of the booth in which I wiped off onto the floor. We waited a good 20 to 25 minutes with waitresses buzzing by our table not attending us what so ever!!! It wasn't until my wife made attention to 1 of the managers that we received service!!! The question that was asked to the manager was why are customers that came in after us being served and we are not including taking a simple drink order down??? This manager was extremely apologetic and told us that our waitresses was new and only just had started about 5 days prior. She took our drink order and we waited till the waitress came to take our order which was not long at this point. As we awaited our meals to come I used the rest room. That was a nightmare and a half as well. It looked like the Mens rest room had not been attended in some time!!! 1 paper towel dispenser was broken and the other had no paper towel in the unit. Also there was a spray bottle of some cleaning chemical left underneath the sink with out a proper SDS label. I would be extremely nervous myself had a child got into this bottle which was green in color. As I said in my opening comment things were a bit different this time around. I did approach a waiter to let him know about the paper towel dispenser and he indicated her would address the issue. Complete and unmitigated disaster! Upon arrival I informed the two extremely young hosts at the door that we would be joined by my sister, her husband and my 89 year old mother with a walker, short of providing a police sketch of the people joining us I was very succinct about the descriptions of the three individuals joining us and asked specifically about accommodating my mother and her walker, they sat us quite a distance from the entrance and assured us that they would be on the watch for the others joining us. 45 minutes later we were still anxiously waiting despite trying to watch the door from were placed so I decided to head to talk to the host/hostess to investigate since none of my family carry cellphones. I stood up wandered towards the front of the restaurant and immediately located my party (by myself no assistance from the staff) on the other side of the restaurant, apparently they were told that no one was waiting for them despite them insisting that they were supposed to be meeting us. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy for a long weekend, how hard could it be to allow two groups of people to meet? Inexperience and incompetence obviously rule here, even simple questions about the menu remained unanswered, I asked a simple question about what kind of fish was in the fish and chips and none of the three separate waiter/waitresses queried could answer the question. The meal was unspectacular and since the rest of our party had already ordered we had to order as we joined them, I received the soggy mystery fish that I had ordered with overcooked fries and my partner received the overcooked brisket thingy making us question why we had travelled from Vancouver for this train wreck of a dining experience? It was supposed to be a happy family reunion not uncertain and anxious 45 minute wait then a rush to order but then dining separately, absolutely terrible experience, unforgivable really. Mediocre service, mediocre food, nothing...

Waitress couldn't get us out of there fast enough and since I have served before I knew the minute we sat down that she was not having it, we asked for a bit of time to look over the menus she came back several times in 5 minutes finally we ordered vemmbecause we felt pressured then we asked for the apps before the meal she placed the apps down and then came right back with our meals......and dropped the beans off my plate and onto my lap and didn't get as much as a sorry, ignored it....and went on eating, since she didn't acknowledge having dropped the beans other than getting me a couple napkins not even a wet clothe, I tipped her 15% which good service would normally get 25% from me as most servers will tip higher than required, but she hot below standard for a reason so since she didn't say anything about dropping the beans I thought I'd give her a second chance and said to my friend as we were packing up our plates that we were rushed through and we couldn't take having her come over to ask us if everything was ok or are we done yet.....so I said to my friend we have to stop at home before we go to the other place and my friends like why and I said loud enough for her to hear me because she was right beside me "because I have beans all over my pants" still not a sorry or hey let me take care of your app......even if she had of mad a joke about it I would have been...
