Second Cup Café — Restaurant in Regina

Went to study with my friends, and everything was fine until one of the employees yelled that it was 9:00 and they were closed. They gave no 10 minute warning, it was just yelled that they were closed and we had to get out. We were confused as online its says they close at 10:00. We began to pack up anyway, but not even 30 seconds after she made the announcement, she began to rudely tell us to pack up and get out. The 2 other customers were also confused as they also thought it closed at 10:00. The employee said that she did not care about what it said online, and that the door said it closed at 9. She then began to turn off all the lights. She didn't give us an opportunity to ask questions, and she just yelled at us to get out. When the other customer asked for her name she said it didn't matter and to get out as it was "well after 9" (it was only 9:01). It was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I went to Second Cup with my two friends, assuming they closed at 10:00 pm because that is what the website says. We found out at exactly 9:00 that the store actually closes at 9:00 from a completely unprofessional and shockingly rude employee that yelled at us that we had to leave because they were closed. Although we were confused, we immediately started to pack up our studying books as she continued to yell at us and the other customers to leave the store. The employee did not even wait a minute for us to get our things together before she turned off the lights and continued to yell at all the customers. This location used to be absolutely amazing. We knew the staff like family, was my wife’s go to. Happy wife happy life. Since changing ownership back to corporate, the place has fallen apart. Between lack of staff, because corporate is abusing them, lack of inventory (closing random days by a sign), lack of repairs, and inconsistency of drinks (over an inch missing on a $6 large drink, while it tastes like licking a coffee urn), we have not and will never go back to this coffee shop. I have modified my 5 star (was for years) to this 1 star. To put it another way, we used to brag to all the other second cups (1 other in Regina and many in other cities) about how lucky we were to have the best second cup in our neighbourhood. Not anymore.
