My husband & I went to Aiku sushi for a Valentine's day dinner. Despite discovering the restaurant through a coupon we received in the mail, the overall experience fell short. First off, the customer service is horrible. When I called to place an order, a heavy-accented Chinese man was short with me when I asked Qs about using a coupon vs cash. Next, he never provided confirmation that my order was placed & quickly hung up on me. When i called back to confirm the placement of my order, I (secretly) hoped my order wasn't placed because I was so disturbed by the unfriendliness and unprofessional behavior. When he picked up the phone, he confirmed my order was placed & immediately ready for pickup. I must add, I'm (usually) willing to overlook customer service issues if the end product is satisfactory; but unfortunately, the sushi had a lot to be desired. I've had (much) better sushi at some of the whitest towns in Pennsylvania. Firstly, the presentation was nothing short of a sloppy and rushed mess. One look, and you can tell, the cook was having an off day....or season. Sashimi is my favorite; and I can be a forgiving critic, but the tuna was inedible. It had a rubbery texture with an acidic aftertaste. I was impressed that I didn't get food poisoning from this sushi tray. Disappointed with our experience, we decided to salvage the evening by visiting T&T Sushi for a second meal. Not only was their sushi platter more affordable, but it also surpassed Aiku Sushi in taste and quality. Aiku, thanks for making our Valentine's day memorable, but we...
Read moreI was here for a couple of times. It looks better outside than inside. Customer service is efficient; servers are responsive. I actually enjoyed the vibes of this restaurant. The second time I was extremely hungry 😋 so I ordered more than usual. It was a steamy Saturday with the sun burning everything it touched. The plaza was loaded with cars but somehow there wasn’t that many customers inside the restaurant.
The price is better than other sushi places. However the portion is small (my unagi rice) I’d rather they charge more to have a better presentation. I also felt like the food ingredients are on the mediocre side. They got busier at lunch time. There was the first time I went I heard from the customer behind me that the edamame was cold. But server accepted to take it back and give a new dish to customer. My food was okay.
Overall there is better options and it wouldn’t hurt to try,...
Read moreToday I want to have sushi n tried this new restaurant to me. I ordered a bento lunch box which contained eel, salmon sashi, tempura, rice n salad combination. It was really good. One bento with difference style of food together costs nearly $20. It's a good deal because I can have 3 dishes in one plate. I liked it a lot. The eels were good, tempura too, crisp n light batter, delicious. Sashimi was ok. I ordered a chicken with steamed egg for my mum, it was very good portion n tasty. Their rice are great! The interior is neat n comfortable, not many people for lunch. Parking is free. Each meal comes with a free miso soup. Very generous n good miso. I would definitely go back to try their sushi...
