Gangshanghua is really YYDs. It used to be called Yang Sanniang. At that time, the Jiaojiao beef pot was so delicious that it was bursting. Now it has been upgraded and renamed, and the taste is still amazing. Oil-splashed boiling fish: It is a visual feast as soon as it is served on the table. The boiling hot oil is poured down, instantly stimulating the aroma of chili, and the whole air is full of the aroma that makes people intoxicated! 🐟The fish meat is tender and delicate, covered with red oil but not salty, spicy and fresh, and you can't stop eating it after one bite Hot beef shreds: It is stir-fried with fierce fire, and you can still smell the aroma of stir-frying when it is served! The beef shreds are firm and chewy, wrapped in thick Sichuan spicy seasoning. Every bite has a sense of stir-frying. It is super spicy, but it does not cover the aroma of beef Cold beef: Leshan people know how to eat cold beef, fragrant, spicy, tough, and chewy! The seasoning of their cold beef is so good, full of sauce flavor, and the slightly sweet taste is really good with rice. Jasmine lemon green tea: a special surprise, fresh jasmine fragrance + slightly sour lemon, paired with iced green tea, a sip will immediately relieve the spiciness and greasiness, super suitable for Sichuan cuisine The environment in the store is full of Leshan style, as if traveling back to the streets of Sichuan! The decoration is very distinctive, with red lanterns, small bamboo chairs, and blue brick walls, the atmosphere is full~ The waiters are also very enthusiastic, super fast, and can see the needs of customers at any time, and the experience is perfect It is recommended to make reservations in advance when there are many people, especially at mealtime, the queue will be so long that you will doubt your life Friends who can't eat too spicy can tell the waiter in advance that it is slightly spicy, but it is recommended to try the standard spiciness, which is the authentic Leshan taste If you want to eat authentic Leshan flavor in Toronto, you really have to close your eyes and rush to the bar! The dishes are still very delicious before and after the name change. You must try the oil-splashed boiling fish, and you can't miss the hot beef shreds and cold beef. Remember to have a cup of jasmine lemon green tea, which is a...
Read moreI was visiting from Vancouver and my friend took me here. She saw this restaurant on Chinese social media and wanted to try.
We arrived about 6:20 pm in a Monday evening and it took us about 15 minutes to get a table. The wait was not bad at all!
The place was a bit small and filled with small squared folding tables. It kind of brought back childhood memories as many families used to have that table.
There were two tables available at the same time for us, but I asked for the one by the wall. It made me feel more secure as the other one was near entrance - a high traffic area. I was glad that I insisted on that because the hot pot on the tables behind that suddenly collapsed and customers jumped away to escape from the falling pot and spilling food! Apparently, the hot pot was put on the gap between two small squares folding tables. It was not the wisest decision to make. However, overall the service was quite satisfactory. Our server bore with our not-so-good Mandarin 👍🏼😌
The food was amazing. Two of us only ordered two dishes and one bowl of rice to start with. Their Mapo Tofu was exceptional. They used beef tendon to replace ground beef and the tendon was so soft. The tofu was so flavourful that we decided to order another bowl of rice!
The second dish was stir fried beef slices which had been deep fried. The beef was crunchy but not dry inside. It also went well with rice!
Overall, it was spicy in a pleasant way. It gave a good kick but not unbearable. It was spicier than average spicy Chinese food in Canada. Perhaps, those who could not really handle spice might find it too hot for them.
Price was very reasonable. I was surprised how affordable dining out was compared with Vancouver. I would like to come back next...
Read moreWait time: Not too bad. We went at the dinner time and waited for about 40 minutes - acceptable to me. Before we went there I was told some ppl that the wait time could be up to 2 hrs so it’s actually better than I thought lol
Food: All food were pretty good, however the size was quite small. We ordered 7 plates of food (5 ppl) and it was just enough (well, some of my group said were not full…). But considered the price the amount was fair maybe. It’s not very spicy so good for people who cannot eat spicy food to try. For me it’s not spicy at all and I would like to have some food more spicy level. You cannot choose the spicy level you want, the waitress said all food are at regular spicy level.
Price: I think it’s fairly cheap, ~$20 per person.
Service: Service was really good. Friendly and felt welcomed. They responded to customers’ request pretty quickly and were being proactive to check frequently what the customers need (water, food, etc).
I would consider going there again, good experience, but don’t think it’s worth of waiting for 2 hrs if you have to wait for...
