Last night I visited this restaurant and ordered three appetizers and two pasta dishes. We waited almost 40 minutes before the pasta was served, but both pastas are very salty.

When the server took our plates away, they explained that their sauce was pre-prepared and the saltiness couldn’t be adjusted. They offered us a lighter vegetarian pasta, which would only take five minutes to prepare.

OMG, if it’s all pre-prepared food, why did we wait more than 40 minutes?

In the end, when we got the bill, it showed three appetizers. I asked the server if we really had three dishes, and they confirmed it. I paid the bill and even tipped 15%, only to be reminded by my friends that we had only eaten two appetizers. After confronting the server, they admitted one dish—a mussel appetizer—wasn’t served because it was freshly cooked and took longer. The customers at the next table even laughed at this. We had already paid and were about to leave when the server said the missing appetizer would be ready shortly. Who serves mussels after the main course? And the server wasn’t even honest about it. For a restaurant that claims to be high-end, the food was mediocre, and overcharging us for one extra dish doesn’t get them much. In the end, they refunded us for the missing dish but didn’t refund the 15% tip. So we ended up tipping over 22%. Whatever, we won’t be coming back. I hope other customers check their bills carefully when...

The space is small but polished, with a clean, modern layout that feels both cozy and stylish.

Each slice of the scallop crudo was silky and fresh, almost sweet on its own, but the citrus dressing brightened everything up. Crushed pistachios added a surprising crunch and a subtle earthiness that made the whole plate balanced.

The farfalle primavera followed with a beautiful burst of flavours. From there, the farfalle primavera was a beautiful burst of flavours. The pasta was cooked al dente, just the right texture to absorb the cream sauce. The sauce itself was light yet rich, which paired wonderfully with the shrimp.

I had my hopes up for the squid ink tagliatelle after seeing it online. The seafood was cooked just right— tender, not rubbery. But the sauce faded into the background more than I expected. A solid dish, but it could have used more flavour.

The hanger steak brought everything back. It came with a perfect sear and sliced like butter. Juicy, tender, and balanced with a light tomato sauce that gave it a nice lift. Just a really well-prepared cut of meat. To top it off, the tiramisu was perfect. Airy layers, just enough sweetness, and a hit of espresso that cut through the cream beautifully.

The portions here were spot on— enough to leave you satisfied but not overly stuffed. The service was attentive, the ambiance was inviting, and every dish had its own unique...

We celebrated my birthday at Cara Cara, and I just wanted to say that it was such an amazing experience and thank you the wonderful birthday dinner. We had a big group so we took up most of the restaurant. We were warned that they may be slow and food might not come out together because they are a small restaurant. To my surprise, the appetizers came out perfectly one by one after we finished each dish. We sampled most of the apps, they were delicious and incredibly unique, it almost felt like a gastronomy tasting menu! The lingua, pig ears, trippa were so impressive because I have never really had those outside of chinese cuisine. The pastas were so so good, especially because it was fresh pasta. We tried the lobster pasta, risotto, octopus, cavatelli-- all were delicious. The elderflower lemonade was really nice as well! Pricing is very fair, portions are reasonable (appetizers are inexpensive but smaller portions, more for tasting which is great because you can try a variety), pasta portions are quite normal in my opinion. Overall, very impressed with food, service was amazing and friendly, very comfortable seating, even for kids (they had boosters), clean restaurants, nice ambience. Will definitely be back. So glad we stumbled upon this gem! Thank you for the...

We thought of having pasta and found this small Italian restaurant with modern decoration, comfortable environment, clean and elegant, warm atmosphere. There are not many choices on the menu, and it has a bit of the taste of private design dishes. The waitress introduced that their menu is changed by the chef according to the season. Looking at more details, there is only one kind of lunch salad, but it is not the common Caesar or garden , but Italian beet barbabietole salad. The salad is very unique, but absolutely delicious; for the main course, my husband ordered wild boar sauce gnocchi, and my vegetarian chose was mushroom chestnut pasta with a unique noodle shape. After that we thought that the sauce with the right thickness definitely enhanced the taste of the whole plate of pasta. In particular appreciated , the young lady waitress was very friendly and patiently introduced and explained everything to us. It was definitely a satisfying meal for the two elders. Before leaving, I especially thanked and said goodbye to the young lady , we both told her that we would come back soon to taste the delicious food again!

Cara Cara is a small Italian eatery in Richmond Hill that offers a cozy atmosphere and delicious cuisine. While I've only sampled a few weekend brunch dishes so far, I'm already eager to return to explore their full menu. The Caesar salad was a pleasant surprise, featuring a refreshing sweetness that deviated from the traditional creamy dressing. The addition of a bit of fresh basil added a delightful fragrance and flavour that elevated the dish. The Frittata di Mare was a standout, packed with savoury seafood flavours. The Pollo Fritto All'Italiana was also enjoyable, featuring juicy, crispy chicken and a sweet and tangy Italian lemon dressing. One thing that impressed me about Cara Cara is their attention to detail. Even for the garnishes, like the pickled shallots and crispy crouton, are prepared with care and create a symphony of flavours in every bite. Overall, the dishes I tried at Cara Cara lean more towards the sweet side than savoury. However, this sweetness is well-balanced and complements the flavours of the ingredients. I'm looking forward to trying their pasta, cicheti, and desserts in the future.
