We purchased our wedding cake from Negin Bakery (Aug 2018). The bottom line is that the cake was delicious and well designed, and for that we thank Faraaz (the head baker), but the reason we are giving a 3/5 is because of how the delivery was immensely mishandled.
As per our agreement, the cake was supposed to be brought into the venue and set on the designated table. In fact, Faraaz told us they would snap a picture after it is set in the venue so they wouldn't be liable for any damages thereafter (which is fair). But what ended up happening is that the delivery persons refused to even bring the bake out of their car. My Bestman and a groomsman had to carry the cake out of the car and into the venue. Yes, you read that right, CARRY a 4-level cake; did not even bring a trolley! Not surprisingly, a part of the cake got squished-in during these shenanigans.
This was very unprofessional and we were embarrassed in front of our guests - and cannot fathom how much more devastating it would have been if our groomsmen wouldn't have come to the rescue.
When we went to see them about this, they said they were short of personnel that day. We asked to speak to the owner (Negin) several times to no avail. We had paid in full before the delivery on the day before, so I guess they were done with us.
Moral of the story: Don't pay in full until that cake is sitting on your cake table all...

The owner is so kind and courteous that it always keeps me coming back. I moved from Richmond Hill to downtown Toronto and I’ve yet to find a bakery that offers the quality that I get here. I find myself making the drive each time and it’s always so worth it!
My favourite items are the pistachio cake (which is their signature cake) but also the strawberry shortcake that is to die for! Fresh strawberries and cream, the cake is so moist and not too sweet. I don’t usually have a sweet tooth and I rarely eat cakes at other parties I attend but this is the only cake I go for seconds.
Every guest who’s tried it immediately asks for their contact info and this is not an exaggeration! They’re always beautifully decorated as well.
I will definitely be...

In turn, we tried two other cakes that seem quite unique - pomegranate and saffron. Both cake layers tasted dry so maybe they have been sitting there for a couple days. Flavours wise, the pomegranate mousse has a nice sour flavour (almost like plum) which we enjoyed. Saffron not so much to our likings, perhaps we just aren’t used to it.
We also picked up a few premium cookies to sample. They are sold by weights. We liked the pecan and walnut cookies. The walnut one was made with only walnuts, egg yolk and sugar, and you could really taste the egg yolk! Pecan cookie is fragrant and crumbly. The hazelnut and pistachio ginger...
