Joe's Hamburgers — Restaurant in Richmond Hill

Ok, here is my experience today, 21Nov2023. Was driving with my daughter around and decided to check out this place due to a very good score on google. We came in at 16:15 hrs to eat at the table. Lady took our order, 2 Joe's Big Hamburger combos, 1 sm. Greek salad and 2 pop drinks. I had to pay right away, $56!!! and tip options with a minimum 10%, which I did. We were provided with an order number tag to be placed at the table so they know where to drop off food. We chose a table, everything looked clean, well maintained. Went to wash hands, washroom looked clean, 2 sink, 2 sope dispensers but only one with the soap. While waiting 20 minutes for our food, off the street, the lady walked in and took a spot near up, at the party room area. Dropped half of her bags on top of one of the tables and started 2 cellphones, "Herbalife" sales like spicker on conversation. No food was ordered, and no one said anything. Our food finally arrived! My family has been going here for over 15 years. Last night was the last time, which is sad. I arrived there at 4:30 pm and it was not busy, maybe two people ahead of me waiting for their orders. Ordered food and the price difference between the menu that was posted and the actual price I was charged was considerable. They obviously have raised their prices(yet again) and have not bothered to update their menu that is posted by the cash (ironic!). My food took 35 minutes to be ready. It was a simple order for two people, with no changes, or substitutions. People who came in way after me had their food ready long before I did, including one person who had a huge order. It does seem that this establishment favours customers who are personal friends of the owners and they are given priority. My 15-year loyalty does not seem to matter. To make matters worse, I asked a woman who was giving food when ready to customers to check on my order. She never came back with an answer. I had to ask someone else. Online ordering!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been coming here for 8 years and is a weekly favourite. We usually get shawarma dinner or chicken kabob dinner. I must say I don't like falafels but that changed after having it at Joe's. I have since tried falafels elsewhere but no comparison to Joe's. We often get the falafel balls on its own as an appetizer.

There are many times we decided to pass on getting food from here because the line up is longggg and Joe doesn't believe in giving you fries that weren't just out of the fryer for call ahead orders. With online ordering I am able to place my order ahead of time and no longer have to call many times to get through to someone to take my order (they are THAT busy).

The wait has and is worth it because the food is fresh, tasty and quality.

Overall, great family restaurant in my local neighborhood. I'd give this place a 5 if they offered delivery service.
