We have visited this place many times before, but today was not up to par.
Upon arrival with my husband and our two young children, we found the hostess desk empty. After a short wait, I peeked into the dining area where the hostess walked by with some dishes, acknowledged us, and said she would be right with us.
When she finished at another table, she came over to us. We were asked about seating preferences and kids' menus. We requested a spot with two high chairs for our children and opted for the kids' menus. The hostess led us to a section with about five tables to choose from, and we selected a table in the far corner near the bathroom. She quickly brought us the high chairs as we looked over the menus.
A gentleman, who I assume was not our waiter, took our drink orders and provided kid-friendly cups with water and a straw. Everything seemed to be going smoothly until then.
It took a while for our actual waiter, Gerry, to come to our table. She introduced herself and gave us some time to decide on our order. Meanwhile, our kids were getting restless, and one started crying on and off. My husband and I took turns calming them down while trying to decide what to order. When my husband took our daughter to the bathroom, our waiter returned to take our order. As I did not know what they wanted to order, I asked her to come back once they returned which wasn’t too long.
A couple at a nearby table complained LOUDLY to our waitress about wanting a quiet dining experience and how our kids were being loud. Feeling flustered, when my husband returned, I requested to leave as I didn't want to deal with the stress of calming the kids down in an unwelcoming environment. My husband, however, wanted to order as he knew things would improve once the kids had their food.
Yet, the man who had served us water, asked my husband to keep the kids quiet as other customers had already requested to move tables due to the noise. Feeling embarrassed and with lost appetite, we decided to leave as there was a lack of respect in handling the situation.
Despite the presence of high chairs and kids' menus, the atmosphere was not family-friendly as we had hoped. Although we saw other families with older children, it felt like toddlers and babies were not welcome to be themselves in this bar and grill setting. The place is usually lively, not overly noisy, but certainly not a venue for a "quiet" dining experience.
This visit was a stark contrast to our previous enjoyable experiences at this location, which we frequented for family outings, date nights, and celebrating milestones. Today's encounter was disappointing enough to deter us...
Read moreHorrible experience. Never coming back. Came here thursday july 10, 2025. Came here with my family after having a long day at wonderland. We are all very hungry and wanting to enjoy a meal before catching a movie. We ordered the calamari which was good. Here comes the bad
Our server dorsa was nice but she got my order slightly wrong. I ordered the 16oz rib steak with mashed potatoes and a side of Mac and cheese. She brings my steak without the mash. And when I said hey is the mashed potatoes coming? She then replied "oh did you want a side of mash? I can get that for you" Obviously I wanted the mash that's why I ordered it. She said it in a way as if I never ordered it.
Then the steaks come (my husband had ordered the same thing as I did. The 16oz rib steak) i ordered mine medium rare. He ordered his medium. The steaks came well done. Hard and chewey like cardboard.
I let Dorsa know that our steaks are over cooked. She brings the manager who is very dismissive of our over done steaks. And then says okay well I can get new steaks out for you. And we said we are on a time crunch we can't wait for new steaks to come out or we will miss the movie. He then says you can take the new steaks to go. WHY WOULD WE TAKE STEAKS TO GO???? I told him we are here to enjoy a meal as a family and are not looking to take anything to go. And that while we wait for our steaks we are going to only have our sides. If the new steaks come there are no more sides to eat just a steak. This is horrible experience. He then says I can offer a discount. And I said how much is the discount? He then dismissed my questions and said just enjoy the rest of your dinner with your family. And walked away.
I know why he did that now. Because when it was time to get the bill Dorsa didnt clean off our table, she sent the manager so he can see how much of the steak we ate to assess how much of a discount he will give us.
We watched him as he took our plates and showed his co-workers and laughed that we ate most of the steak as if we are complaining for no reason. ME AND MY FAMILY WERE STARVING FROM BEING AT WONDERLAND SINCE 10 AM AND ARE HAVING DINNER HERE AT 6PM. OF COURSE WE ARE HUNGRY!!! and although we hated the steaks we are hungry and are going to eat but did not enjoy it. We only got 20 percent off the horrible meal and terrible service. We frequent the cineplex across the street A LOT, and always got to dinner before the movie. We will stick to kelseys or Montanas and will never be returning here ever. The manager is garbage. His attitude is garbage and doesn't know how to deal...
Read moreI've been here twice. The first visit I would give a 3 star to, and the second visit a 4.5 star.
First visit: We came as a party of 2 for the valentines day special and were seated in a corner. We had reservations, so we did not have to wait although the restaurant was very busy and there was a lineup. After being seated, it took ~15 minutes for the server to come and take our order and ask if we wanted drinks. After placing our order (it was a 3-course meal), our drinks came promptly but we had to wait about 20 minutes for the appetizer. Not a huge issue here. The main problem came when we wanted to get our entrees. After our appetizers were finished, we waited for about 30 minutes before I got fed up and asked about the status of our food. Our server told us that "it was on the way". Another 15 minutes go by and no food, so I ask another man walking by (who looked like a manager of some sorts) where the food was and he said that he would check on it. He came back 5 minutes later and told us it was being plated. Another 10 minutes go by and no food, so I call out to another individual who turned out to be a regional manager on location for the day. After he investigates, it turned out that our order had never been punched in, and it had been put into the system only when the other manager said it was "being plated". I would have given this place a 1-star if we had not been compensated (free meal for our trouble) and the server swapped to a very competent, prompt, and professional server.
Second Visit: Stark contrast to the first. We went on a Monday evening for an appetizer and drink special. The restaurant was busy, but not completely packed. We were seated in the lounge by an older and friendly lady who seemed to be some sort of manager based on her attire. Our server was a little slow to arrive, but he was very apologetic and handled our orders quickly and professionally. The food arrived quickly and was delicious - the goat cheese platter especially was great. I had some qualms about the fried food (it was a big "soggy" and not crisp) but apart from that there were no issues at all with the service or the meal. Servers who were not even attending to us and just walking by would say hello and ask if everything was alright. We gave our server a generous tip and left very content.
Perhaps the awful service experience the first visit was due to how busy the restaurant was, but the second time around it was fantastic. I never thought I would be coming here again after the first visit, but after the second I'd be more...
