Today, I went to buy a cheesecake, and this girl deliberately made things difficult for me. I had explained everything clearly, and we were in a hurry. Yet, she asked every question very slowly, intentionally repeating everything. “Do you want the cheesecake? Do you want it hot or cold? Do you want any other products?” I rejected her, saying I didn’t want anything else, but she kept asking questions, clearly trying to make things harder for me. So, I told her again that I had already made it clear that I really didn’t want anything else.
She responded by saying, "This is our policy." I started thinking, “Are you sure the owner would agree with this? If they see this review, I hope they give her some basic training. If her service attitude is worse than that of a robot—so rigid and intentionally making customers dissatisfied and unhappy—then they should either dismiss her or give her more training.”
Today is September 27th, during the 4 PM shift. You should check who was working. This girl needs proper training. I don’t know if her salary is too low, but she clearly doesn’t enjoy her job. In fact, it seemed like she was purposely trying to ruin the business for the owner. So, when you see this review, please also pay attention to the staff in the store. Check the surveillance footage and see if other customers are as...
Read moreThere is an INSECT in the middle of my uncle tetsu cake (look at the photos). There is no doubt it was baked with the insect, as it was mixed into the batter. When I brought this cake to show the staff there, she immediately started texting and taking photos of the dirty cake. She was not apologetic and did not even acknowledge me. At this point, she said her manager is not here so she can't provide me with another cake without her manager's approval. I was NOT asking for another cake, I just wanted to show them the insect to ensure this won't happen to another customer. Because I worry for the health and safety of my community, I told her I need to notify York Region's Food and Safety department - the staff then shoved another cake into my hand apparently not needing the manager's approval anymore. Honestly, if you don't want food poisoning, DO NOT come to this Uncle Tetsu location at Hillcrest mall. It is unsanitary and their customer service is...
Read moreI bought a Japanese style cheese cake, original favor from Uncle Tetsu for my friend’s birthday. This is my first time buying a Japanese style cheese cake in Toronto. Luckily there is no line up at the store when I arrive and I finish my purchase very fast. Yes the store accepts debit or credit but no cash, that is totally fine for me. The cheese cake is $14 which is not expensive compared to those at supermarket or bakery shop. Uncle Tetsu cheese cake has 3 favours: original, matcha and chocolate. The cake is very soft yet bouncy, some moisture in the middle layer, Japanese style cheese cake is usually much lighter compares to the western style, yet this one I can still taste the cheesy. We cannot finish the whole cake on the same day and surprisingly we find that the cake tastes even better after 2 days, haha. Delicious, affordable and will...
