âAWFUL EXPERIENCE - THINK TWICE BEFORE SPENDING YOUR MONEY HERE!!!
Last night's visit to this dessert place turned into an absolute NIGHTMARE, and I'm deeply upset by the disrespectful treatment we received!
Firestly, we were UNEXPECTEDLY FORCED to order one thing per person, with no prior warning. No mention during our call before we arrived, seating, when she handed the menu and mentioned in the menu. We felt completely UNRESPECTED!
Secondly, despite being a group of 6, they failed to provide us with ENOUGH cutlery and napkins. No small plates for sharing as well. We had to repeatedly ASK for basic items. And even bring the plates from the counter to our table (which should be done by the waitress ). She seemed UNWILLING and IMPATIENT, making the experience even MORE FRUSTRATING!
To add to our disappointment, the waitress constantly reminded us of tehir closing time, which in fine in normal case and we did pay the bill and add reasonable tips (althought I dont think here service is worth it). However, a table arriving after us did not have all their food yet were not even remined once. At least she reminded us FAR MORE OFTEN than the other table. It makes us wonder if we're being treated DIFFERENTLY. End up they enjoyed their dessert WELL PAST closing. When we questioned this DOUBLE STANDARD, the waitress's DISMISSIVE and IMPOLITE attitude was evident.
We can't help but wonder if the staff's rude behavior is a result of us being POLITE and FRIENDLY. It's disheartening to think that courtesy might be a reason for AWFUL service! Also, if this establishment endorses a CORPORATE CULTURE of double standards or, worse, racism.
Overall, despite the EXPENSIVE yet average food, the experience and service were a HUGE LETDOWN. Being treated unfairly for being NICE is unacceptable. We left feeling deeply frustrated, and this Google review serves as a WARNINGâźď¸: CONSIDER YOUR OPTIONS - THIS PLACE MIGHT NOT BE WORTH YOUR...
Read moreI don't get a lot of chances to go out in a date with my husband because we have a young child. Last night was one of those rare moments where we had the chance to have someone watch over our kid while we go out and enjoy some desserts.
Azure play Cafe looked promising. The menu was great and the prices were reasonable. The desserts and drinks looked so beautiful.
Sometimes I wouldn't judge a restaurant for bad service if the food is really good. However last night proved me wrong as I never even got my food.
I ordered a mango float cake and a mango machine for myself and a mango shaved ice for my husband. We waited and waited. Then 20 whopping minutes later I was informed that the cake that I wanted was sold out. Couldn't they have figured this out earlier? Why did it take them 20 minutes to tell me? I wasted my time waiting for something that they did not even have.
So instead of the cake, I changed my order to another mango mochi. Again, we waited some more and after around 15 minutes they finally came out with my husband's order. As my husband received his order, he reminded the server about my food, to which the server acknowledged and confirmed that it was coming.
By the time my husband was finished with his dessert, my mochi was still nowhere to be seen.
We decided to pay for his shaved ice and give up on my mochi as it would probably never arrive.
Then server tried to bill us for the shaved ice AND the 2 mochi that I never even got. This place is a joke. I wasted my rare date night with my husband with this place. I should have went to blackball or chatime instead... Do not waste...
Read moreAfter we were seated, no one came to help us, we weren't sure if we are served or if we ordered at the counter. We ended up ordering at the counter, but saw the waitress went to take the order for other tables afterwards.
We ordered a shaved ice, and mango cake. Any dessert place can put together a shaved ice in less than 10 minutes, and their cake is usually pre-made and just needs to be plated. It took 20+ minutes before the waitress came to our table and said the cake is sold out, 20 minutes for something that should have been told to us at the time we ordered it, so we ordered a mochi instead. I had to follow up with the waitress after 30 minutes of waiting for them to actually make the shaved ice.
When the shaved ice was finally served to us, I reminded the waitress by asking if our second order is coming, she said yes. It never came, but we saw it on the bill.
While we were eating we also noticed that the waitresses, who are also responsible for food prep, started cleaning tables and taking short breaks. Nothing wrong with either, except when other tables haven't even been waited or have received their food (ours included). The restaurant was not busy, and it wasn't like there was a food delivery guy coming in ever 2 minutes like other places.
Foodwise, for the one our of three things that we actually got from what we ordered, it was nothing special. Any other shaved ice place could make the same or better. So why should we ever come back since there's so many competitors with better service and quality within a 5min vicinity? Anwar is no, we will...
