Hainan Kitchen — Restaurant in Richmond

Is zero stars an option? My mother stood at the counter for a whole minute while the worker behind the counter did not address her in the slightest. He looked up and asked what she wanted. She was still looking at the menu to decide on her order and he signaled for her to hurry up and order. I figure any restaurant right now would welcome any business they could get, especially during Covid. Guess I was wrong... It's a shame because on previous occasions that I have come here for take out, the middle aged woman (possibly the owner) has been quite nice and accomodating. We were the only customers at the restaurant so it wasn't like they were incredibly packed with walk in business. We ended up ordering anyways when we probably should have just walked away... I refuse to come back here and I won't be recommending anyone to this...

DISGUSTING CHICKEN AND RICE.

They always serve old overnight rice. Not fresh at all. It happened 6 months ago. I tried to give them another chance. However, it’s the same and it’s actually gotten worst than before.

Rice smell weird and taste weird. Definitely not fresh or a day old.

Chicken is super dry, rough, hard and the meat looks like an eraser texture. Any food court Hainese chicken rice in Richmond food court is better than this.

The price is the same as prataman but prataman is 10/10 delicious. This is only 0/10.

This is a big failure since they were good when they first started. I wasted $40.

Has a very simple menu. Only 3 entree items. Based on their menu choices this place is mainly serving the Chinese commmunity. I had their curried beef brisket with chicken flavoured rice. I didnt get much meat, mainly just pieces of fat, and in general it was a very fatty dish. The "curry" had no curry in it. It was tasty but very bland. It was more like an English stew in my opinion. The chicken flavoured rice was also tasty but very oily. Mine was a take out order. presented very nicely and lots of food. came with a nice little salad. Staff were nice. place was very clean. I doubt i would go back anytime soon just becasue the menu is so small. Ive already had...
