Decided to give this place a try even after reading a couple bad reviews (traveller's are sometimes grumpy), but I should have listened to them. This was probably one of the worst lunches I've ever paid $30 for. I tried the salad rolls. They were probably made a day or two prior to me eating them so the rice paper was hard and the lettuce inside was brown and gross. The "peanut sauce" was runny and overall, I'd say they were the worst salad rolls I've ever experienced. I also ordered the coconut chicken banh mi. Also awful. No coconut whatsoever so not sure why it's called that. The bread was at least a day or two old so it wasn't soft, just chewy. There was nothing on it for flavour. The chicken was boiled and had the white stringy fat on it like when you boil chicken. The flavour was mild and underwhelming. It was pretty disappointing to spend $30 on such a meal. I feel like they are only still open because they get one-time traveller's who only have a few options and decide to give it a try. If they had to rely on returning customers, they would have been gone as soon as they opened. Awful overall. If I could I'd say zero stars. Don't waste your money. Stand in the long line at Tim Hortons next door....

Terrible customer service. Staff look and speak to you like not once ounce of their being wants to be behind that counter. I ordered the summer roll, the photo had two sauces, I requested no peanut sauce. They gave me the roll and there was no sauce at all, I asked for one and they said they had no fish sauce. Why they didn’t tell me when I ordered it I’ll never know. Completely unphased by my disappointment. I ended up just giving it back to them because I didn’t want their bone dry roll, they offered no refund or replacement, and certainly not any form of an apology LOL. The steak bahn mi I ordered was mediocre, the bread was tough as nails. My son had to use the washroom suddenly so I asked if they could leave my food and not clear it away because we would be right back. Just gawked at me from behind the counter and said they don’t know if anyone would touch it. I said I understand that, I’m asking your establishment to not throw it away because I have no one to watch it. I wish I had an AED machine to revive someone because all three staff were showing no signs of life while I was speaking to them. Worst customer service and by far the worst restaurant I’ve eaten at at YVR....

I have never rated a 1 star review so this will be my first. I ordered a Vietnamese chicken soup and I asked if it was pho and the cashier said yes. The bowl for full size was really small and it was for 21$. The noodles were nothing like actual pho noodles and the soup base was spicy and sour. It is a completely different soup, I doubt it was even pho. I wanted and paid for actual pho but I guess they only want money. Not to be racist or anything but I can kinda tell it’s not original because the chefs were Indians when they’re supposed to be making pho.. not be racist! I’m just saying. But I really hope they start making real pho and not completely different soups because I asked and PAID for something I love and they gave me something I hated. I ended up throwing the bowl of the soup away and the thing is that I never throw away food unfinished but this...

My daughter and I just bought at this store just 10 minutes ago. The cashier was rude and spoke so fast that I didn’t understand what she was saying . When we ordered the chicken noodle soup and the rolls she said “no chicken and no rolls, I already told you that” with angry tone.So we had no choice but order other foods. Then when we got the orders I checked there was only I pair chopsticks. When I went to counter and asked for additional chopsticks, her coworker was ready to hand the chopsticks, she immediately shoved it to me angrily. I looked at her but she never looked back at me. She was so mean and disrespectful. I don’t know what the issue is why she’s acting that way. I hope the manager or management would retrain their employees on how to be courteous and respectful.

I went against the reviews and ordered the Vietnamese Chicken noodles from Banh Shop. The first sign of trouble was that they only gave me a spoon for the soup noodles. No chopsticks or forks. I opened the lid and found the rice noodles were all chopped up. This was a big no for Vietnamese and Chinese noodles. The chicken was marinated and it had nothing to do with Vietnamese taste. It was served with green onion and onion. The portion was small and I had to order a Tim Horton wrap as dinner. This, however, is a life changing event. I realized that as long as one can find the right location, they can shine and be prosperous. Obviously Banh found its position and they seem to have no trouble finding unsuspecting customers.

Shrimp rolls = PREMADE, tiny sliced shrimp and majority noodles (looks like a lot of shrimp but it’s just turned to show at the top). Rice paper that it was wrapped in was super thin and tore apart… the peanut sauce is super runny but not bad taste. The initial shrimp rolls I got was already broken apart and had hair in it. When I returned for another one, the lady put it back in the fridge 😖 (for the next victim 🤮). Pork meatball banhmi is not a real banhmi bc there are no classic Vietnamese parts that make it a banhmi. It’s a baguette with (non pickled) carrots, cucumbers and regular Mayo… it’s eatable which is why it gets a 2 star. Other than that… you don’t have many other choices around there.
