The setup here is split between a grab and go counter with sandwiches and salads, baked goods, coffee, and bubble tea, and on the other side, a small bar where you can order alcoholic drinks, restaurant food, and any of the drinks from the coffee/bubble tea bar. I think they're supposed to close at 9, which is annoyingly too early for most red-eye flights, but I've sometimes seen them shuttered even earlier. I stopped by the grab and go counter a few years ago and got a fresh milk with grass jelly. It's hard to miss up a simple drink like that and theirs was good with lots of grass jelly. This time I sat at the bar to order dinner. I tried the buddha bowl and a mango passion fruit slush. The buddha bowl was a little weird; the individual components were all good, but I didn't think the masala chickpeas (DELICIOUS on their own) went well with the large-chopped raw vegetables or the wild rice blend - the vegetables cancelled out the slight sweetness of the chickpeas, and the spiced chickpeas covered up the nuance of the wild rice. The mango passion fruit slush was icier than I expected - I watched the barista make it, and it was juice + ice - no blended fruit. But I guess it's a slush, not a smoothie, so I just set my expectations wrong. It was fine even though it wasn't what I really wanted. Airport prices = roughly $30 before tip for the food and drink. Oh well. I would consider getting dinner here again and trying something else like...
Read moreIt’s 10am and I’m in the airport headed to my next destination. I sure would like some breakfast and this restaurant has waffles 🧇 😆! The presentation was lovely, two delicate waffles, a serving of warm syrup, raspberry compost and a custard that tasted like green tea. The waffles were too sweet for my taste but I’m atypical ☺️. Mr. Martin had the bagel with lox. He said it’s really good. The dish was pricey but that’s typical in the airport. No one forced me to eat in the airport, I could have waiting until I got in the plane ✈️ and had a pack of cookie with Sun chips. Root 98 didn’t disappoint! The staff is very...
Read moreWe ate here before a flight, and after such an awful experience, I have come on here to read the reviews and they are all correct. Please, please save your money and do NOT buy anything from here. Bought a breakfast sandwich which was cold after the first bite, the croissant was at least 3 days old-you could throw it at the window and it would have probably smashed it. The service was just horrific, like you owe the staff something. Please avoid...
