The café has a beautiful interior — charming decor, greenery, and thoughtful presentation that definitely makes it a popular spot for photos. The dishes are visually stunning and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.
However, the food is underwhelming for the price point. For a Benny with $30 price point, I was hoping for a delicious meal. Sauce was bland and watery. The seafood was dry and tough, and the sourdough base didn’t quite have the texture or taste I was expecting — it felt more like regular bread, but below average. The supposed to be “crispy potato strings” isn’t crispy and hard to chew.
The Tom Yum shrimp spaghetti had a nice concept and decent flavor, but it didn’t quite hit the mark compared to other versions I’ve tried elsewhere. I think with a bit more depth and balance in the sauce, it could be a standout dish.
Coffee-wise, it was just okay and very light — not quite on par with a good specialty coffee shop in terms of flavour or aroma.
I’d been looking forward to visiting this place for a while with all the social media hype, and while I appreciated the ambiance and presentation, the overall experience didn’t fully meet the expectations. It might’ve just been an off day, but I probably won’t return to try...
Read moreCafe & Life in Richmond is an absolute delight! This isn't just a place to grab coffee; it's a vibrant little hub that truly lives up to its name.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and cozy. The decor is stylish yet comfortable, with plenty of seating options – perfect for catching up with friends, getting some work done, or simply relaxing with a good book. There's a really positive, friendly energy here.
The coffee? Exceptional. My latte was expertly crafted, smooth, and rich – easily one of the best I've had locally. My friend raved about their cappuccino too. We couldn't resist trying some of their fresh pastries (the almond croissant was divine!) and the avocado toast was beautifully presented and delicious. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and high-quality.
What truly sets Cafe & Life apart, though, is the fantastic service. The staff were genuinely warm, welcoming, and attentive. They seemed happy to be there, and it showed.
They also have a lovely selection of local products and unique little gifts, adding to that 'Life' aspect. It feels like a real...
Read moreHad the absolute pleasure visiting the cafe multiple times per week for the past few months. Loved all the food items especially the brunch items. The food is high quality and you can see the design and the concept that go into making each menu item a unique creation. I especially love the strawberry cream croissant, the americano oat misto , Lobster benny, and was also surprised by how good their happy hour menu is. I enjoy coming here to have a quick lunch, early dinner or just sitting down and working on my laptop. I feel a lot of peace and positive vibes whenever I am physically in the space! The service was always fast, individualized and tentative, and I never had to wait in line for a long time even during the busy times when ordering. As I am writing this review, I am already thinking about my next visit with them - there's always something new to try from the cafe and I am glad to know that what I eat from here is made with healthy ingredients and care. Thank you for making each of my visits special, the Cafe &...
