If anyone is "smart" enough to waste their money reading the bad reviews they are all true and I will never forget my experience with the nasty abusive treatment we got here.

2 years ago : I do not recommend anyone coming to this restaurant if you care about your health. Other restaurants in the city are better at the same prices. Spending $80 is completely unjustified for 3 people. Some of the best breakfast restaurants in the city are worth the wait since you have to wait outside in your car to get a table at this restaurant.

Here is the list of restaurants: Cafe Medina, Paul's Omlettery, Coras ( Stevenson hwy) Breakfast Table, Le Petite Belge, Catch 122 Cafe Bistro, Fables Diner, Tand the Flying Pig...your money will be well spent at these particular restaurants with impeccable service.

To the uneducated and rude manager who has been working at IHOp for 25 years,

Here is some education on food quality since you won't know the difference between fresh and spoiled fruit. "Foods can deteriorate quickly because of natural biochemical changes or bacteria growth. These processes affect their taste, odour, texture and appearance. Fruits are particularly vulnerable to Bacillus, Clostridium, Erwinia carotovora and other bacteria species. They may also be contaminated with moulds such as Aspergillus and Penicillium."

We walked in and you in particular ( the blonde elder lady who claims to be the manager) started commanding us to wait outside as if we were your servants but we continued to wait and abide by your orders. When you came to our table you gave us attitude being short and abrupt, while taking our orders. I let you know the fruit was not fresh, you continued to give me attitude on top of several excuses and lies just to cover up the fact that the food is not fresh and on top of that called me an idiot to my face and started yelling me to get out of your restaurant ?! Wow! What a horrible way to treat anyone who is telling you that the food is not fresh!! I feel sorry for your employees that they have to put up with a self-righteous man such as yourself! You should have no place as a manager position in any type of restaurant especially in Vancouver where service and quality of food are expected to be at higher standards than the food that was served at our table and you think that treating me the way you did justify what you said to my fiancé? You said ", have a grandson who is autistic so I understand how to handle people like that ". Are you serious?! Why would you handle the situation in that way with any customer? Is that how you treat your grandson? demean him and call him an idiot and lie to him like you did to me? That's called abusive language and morally wrong. If you know your management position as a professional why would you bring your personal life into the workplace over a bowl of rotten fruit and act condescendingly from the time we came into the time from the time we left? Do u have not any common sense in even understanding you were wrong and just calm down and apologize Anyone would've been very angry being treated and talked to that way. Osama, one of the servers who handled my call in a very polite, friendly and apologetic manner on the telephone should be the manager of the restaurant even if he doesn't have 25 years experience he would do a much better job and he should teach you a lesson in customer service since not all of your years have taught how to talk to people in a good manner and let me remind u what "management duties" include since that is not what we experienced at all.

Management responsibilities and duties :

ensuring compliance with licensing, hygiene and health and safety legislation/guidelines

handling customer enquiries and complaints

taking reservations

greeting and advising customers

problem-solving assessing and improving profitability

liaising with customers, employees, suppliers, licensing authorities and sales representatives

making improvements to the running of the business and developing...

What a discrimination. It is not family friendly. It seems to me, it is only kid friendly if your baby/kid is old enough to sit and order something to snack on friendly. A wheelchair which has a bigger base dimension can be allowed, but not a compact stroller (photo attached for reference, 3 letter size paper length wise).

My family love iHop growing up. I was going to dine in with my brother and my 5m+ baby a week ago when this happened. As I walked in with the stroller and the waitresses grabbed a high chair right away. I said sorry she's only almost 6m old not fully ready for the chair yet. Then they told me they do not allow strollers by the booth. We can only be seated if she can be in one of their high chairs and ask me to park my stroller in the middle of the waiting area. I said the baby is only 5m+ old, she just learned how to sit, but not yet holding herself up, so she needs to be in a stroller. I understand the space is limited, but the restaurant was not full. It was around 12pm on Thurs May 9th. There are still a few booths available in the bigger section, no line ups whatsoever, and the parkade was not even full. There was a section on the left side of the restaurant (4 booths?) which is completely empty. I am assuming they were empty or maybe closed off due to limited staff and slow business that day. I was shocked but said/commented, this is a FAMILY friendly restaurant, but just not baby friendly...ok and was about to leave. Then one of the waitresses said let me ask the manager if I could be seated you guys in the empty section. She came back after a few minutes and said the answer was no. The reason was a fire hazard and they could be fined if there was an inspection. I said that's fine, I am not asking to be an exception. I am sure I am the first customer who has a stroller nor want the business to be in trouble. I said of course, someone else can have my business and left.

So.... A high chair can be sticking out next to the booth, but not a travel stroller. Half of the stroller is usually pushed under the table or parked beside the table. It is a fire hazard, but they asked me to park my stroller in the middle of the restaurant, perfectly in the way where exits are. Most importantly, a wheelchair can be in the restaurant, but not a stroller.

Please don't ask me to contact you via link like your other response. Your staff and manager are well aware of the situation and said nothing they can do due to the layout and policies unless they rebuild and I am sure we understood each other perfectly fine that day. There's definitely a discrimination and a bad judgement call from management. We are not coming back even if my kid is...

I have been an IHOP customer for years both in Canada & the U.S. I have been to several locations, & experienced fantastic food & cuisine. Usually when I write reviews, they are 5 star reviews with 2 thumbs up. The reason for this review, is due to severe incontinence & diarrhea, the worst case ever. This only occurs when I attend the Richmond location by Richmond Centre. When I go to IHOP, it's usually my first meal of the day. I could not sleep last night & experienced pain in my gut. At 2:50am I rushed to the bathroom, like a racehorse. I was on the toilet for 1 hour & 45 minutes. Even after that my body was still experiencing bowel issues. I took Immodium & a another natural bowel remedy. I had to remain still as possible. The gut was rumbling constantly. I finished my meal at IHOP around 7:30pm the previous evening. It was my last, & only meal for that day. I noticed that my servers, did not have eye contact with me during the course of the meal. The first server had eye contact once, the 2nd second server did not establish eye contact. It was my first time seeing these servers. I was never rude to them, but respectful. There were no inappropriate words, nor inappropriate actions towards them. I knew exactly, what I wanted & ordered. Eventually the server acted indifferent & insecure. There was no flirting ever. I had to contact another server because the other server was at the back of the restaurant sweeping the floor. She was cold as well. The dishwasher used to be friendly, & even assisted the servers in the past. I go to this location periodically. The servers years ago were far superior. They knew how to connect to the customer, & created a great customer experience. For whatever reason, I'm being targeted. I pay the bill, & tip contingent on the level of service. I'm not a senior citizen. Even as I write this review, I'm still feeling pain & discomfort. Very gaseous. Just to be clear, I have no negative attitude towards the servers, nor staff. The same cook prepares my food. This particular cook has been there for decades. If I didn't experience this level of incontinence, I would never have written this review. I still tipped the server, even though the service was horrible. Very poor observation skills. Seems bothered, when I requested items, that were not provided initially. Hire people, that enjoy serving people, not robotic individuals. Everyone has been a customer at some point in their lives. Use those experiences to be the best servers possible. Nuff...

It was a Swiftie weekend. Yes that weekend. So even out in Richmond the local Ihop was packed with older folks or western families seeking a hearty meal of carb loading and caffeine pounding all squeezed into Japanese family restaurant style dining booth seating. Imagine big fat Americans stuck in the tight confines of a booth made for skinny people. Barely able to have a conversation because they can't breath from the cramped booth and the table digging into your ribs while trying to wolf down your pancakes a syrup that are topped with powdered sugar and syrupy fruit glue compote. So i decided to go against the grain from having being forced to dine here by ordering up something that looked pleasing to the eye on the menu. Sadly what I received was a far cry of what was in the picture. It looked like they dropped it on the floor while trying to plate my omlette and hastily put it back on the plate. Because, you know "5 second rule"...... but what made it worse was the short small curly brown hair in my fruit salad. My recommendation? If you absolutely must have this kind of food go to Dennys. I won't come back here again. Despite the amazing server we had. The kitchen staff was a let down.

Honestly, I hate leaving 1 star reviews but there was literally nothing good about this visit. This ihop has been here since I could remember and oh has it changed or been the same, I am not even sure lol. The food is not good at all or unique, it’s a place people go to say they had “breakfast” the eggs are grease and mushy, the sausages the same and the pancakes are way to doughy and dry if that makes any sense. For the price point it’s fine. But I just felt greasy in there. The service was just darn right strange, the host was odd kinda like a robot with not many emotions, server even stranger made our simple request or questions seem dumb, barley came by as well. Also brought the bill before we were even done. Overall haven’t been in years and definitely won’t be coming back again, I can definitely live without IHOP in my life that’s for sure. If you want a quick meal got a decent prize or your hungover yeah this may be your joint but really wouldn’t recommend otherwise, your honestly better making the trip up to ladder for Rickie’s diner or checkout white spot breakfast. Like always just my opinion.
