We ordered the Deep Fried Pork Chop with Rice and the Chicken Nuggets with Rice. They made us waited for a long time while the person who ordered the food before us got their food much earlier than we did. When the woman from the kitchen brought our food to the counter, the female server at the counter left our food on the counter for a long time which made our food cold by the time we ate. All the food (the fried food and the side dishes) were cold. Only the rice was hot. Do you want cold fried food? Also, the Deep Fried Pork Chop which was not authentic (they cooked them with black pepper sauce) was not cut into smaller pieces; they just gave us the whole pieces that were difficult to eat.
When she called our number and we went to pick up our food, she asked us if I wanted the food to go and we said it was for here. Then she kept telling me to hold the tray as if I was rushing her but I was not. I was trying to ask her for the tea which was included in the combo but she did not give me a chance to speak. She did not look at us and she acted like she was scared of us. Then she handed us the two tea with both hands and put them on the tray while we were holding the tray. She made us look like we were pressuring her but actually it was her who did not do her job properly - she should put the tea onto the tray first before giving us the tray with the food.
The fact that they embarrassed customers and were rude at the same time while making the food cold and difficult to eat was unacceptable. They gave customers a big portion for the order (to compensate?) but the quality of food and the service were terrible. The good reviews were probably written by their relatives...
Read moreWe came on Apr 23 to try the food here based on the awesome recommendation from friends and the online reviews. We arrived at 5 pm and selected the salted chicken combo (鹽酥雞飯) which according to the sign was $12 including broth soup, rice and 5 side dishes. The server advised they ran out of soup containers, but would not agree to my suggestion by compensating with more rice. I further asked if soup would be served if we came back next week, and then she confessed that soup is no longer included. We ordered the combo anyway, and it was ready in about 5 minutes. The salted chicken was indeed awesome. It was moist inside, and seasoned well with salt and what tasted like Chinese five spice, resulting in a slightly crispy (not crunchy) coating. The rice was hot but a bit mushy. The vegetable side dishes were scooped up from trays sitting under the glass counter (not freshly made like the chicken) and were hit-and-miss. The spicy tofu was good, the green beans tasted fair but was cool (not even lukewarm). It tasted like they had removed it from the fridge a while ago but it has not even risen back to room temperature. Naturally, the server (even though she was polite) denied it by claiming it had just cooled off from sitting out too long. So I deducted one star for the unsatisfactory side dishes, and another star for the server's less-than-forthcoming responses. Finally, some reviewers gushed about the large portion size ("enough for 1.5 persons"), but what I received today was just about right for one person (and I'm not a big eater). But still, the $12 provided good value (especially in today's climate of...
