I ordered Lattea twice after seeing their promotions on UberEats. It’s a relatively new bubble tea shop that replaced the former Yi Fang Bubble Tea spot near Richmond Oval.
The shop after the renovations is drastically scaled down from the original cafe style to a more take out approach with a small seating area.
My most recent visit was a week ago on March 12 and ordered the Matcha Soy Latte ($6.50) with pearls ($0.50) and given it was bogo on UberEats also got the other free with pearls ($0.50) and oolong jelly ($1) to make it $15 so I get 5% off with UberOne.
It had a generous portion of matcha but the flavour wasn’t overly strong as I’d like (would prefer a higher quality stronger matcha flavour - but can’t really complain with the price) because it was overpowered by the soy milk. It’d likely be better with normal milk that is more neutral in flavour. The pearl was admittedly sub par (which was the main reason for the next purchase being two months later) when trying again. Oolong jelly was generous portion and reasonably good.
However the service is friendly and prompt. I did not experience any of the other reviews mentioned about slow or unfriendly service. The drink prices are fair and pretty typical and the service is prompt and quick. The only draw back is the quality of bubble tea pales slightly in comparison to the variety and availability in Richmond especially.
The previous time in January 12 I ordered the Pearl Milk Tea ($5.75) which was also bogo so two for the price of one.
Once again the service was friendly and quick. And my drink was ready at the designated pick up time.
However the drink uses powered milk substitute and you can taste the difference (not dried milk but like the coffee creamer type that uses synthetic creamers and you can kind of taste the chemical like flavour). The price is cheap especially with the bogo promo so that was a factor to the rating as can’t really complain at $3/cup (although it’s about the same pricing as Fresh Elements Jasmine Green Milk Tea and Black Milk Tea with pearls at Yaohan or Lansdowne and they admittedly have better pearls and tea with real milk) but you’d think that with a name like Lattea they’d be using real milk as I’d presume the name comes from latte (espresso with steamed milk) added to tea. So I guess I was expecting real milk to be used than the artificial creamer. To be fair, the full menu they give with your order tells you which drinks are real milk and powdered creamer or soy.
The pearls were also a little stale and not very chewy as I’d guess they use premade pearls and left it out too long then reheating.
However that time as well service was prompt and friendly with a smile and the drink was ready on arrival. So never had the issues about the wait or bad customer service mentioned by other reviews.
Overall honestly the 4 stars is because I don’t think the 2.3 stars average they currently have reflects the business itself. It was likely reflective more of the opening glitches with delays and initial customer service problems that I didn’t experience at all both times I tried it for UberEats pick up order. Both times the two different staff were friendly and prompt. It’s surprising to see two staff for a small bbt shop (very limited seating) as well so there likely won’t be much a wait.
Both times it was friendly and prompt. And no issues with customer service or wait times.
The only drawback is the drink wasn’t as good as other bubble tea shops. Namely the pearls each time was a bit stale or hard. They likely use the premade vacuum pack pearls and need to get better quality pearls or cook it better or keep it heated so it doesn’t harden. Else it becomes a bit brittle than chewy. The tea also wasn’t very flavourful and the non-dairy milk powder was very distinctly tasted (in a not so good way, I think it covered up the tea flavour likely). Rating boosted a bit.
Other things to note: You can select your sweetness and ice level on both which is good. Limited seating but seating available if you want to...
Read moreWe stopped by Lattea 樂飲 during its grand opening on October 14, 2024, and it did not disappoint! Lattea 樂飲 is located where the Yi Fang used to be. This new bubble tea house was super busy, thanks to its grand opening promo — $2 for five selected drinks daily! Such a great deal!
We tried the Mango Pomelo Slush and Roasted Oolong Tea Au Lait and loved both!
🧡 Roasted Oolong Tea Au Lait: Made with lactose-free milk, this drink had a rich oolong flavor, and we added the roasted oolong tea jelly for an extra kick. The jelly had a texture similar to glass jelly but with a mild oolong taste, making it super refreshing.
💛 Mango Pomelo Slush: Packed with fresh mango and pomelo bits, it was so refreshing, perfect when craving something fruity. It even came with sago, so we didn’t need to add any extra toppings — definitely my go-to for slush!
We also noticed many people ordering from their Cream Foam and Fruit Selections, especially the Cane Qing Tea, which we’re excited to try next time. In addition, they have a unique Soy selection for those looking for something different.
The Richmond location is conveniently inside Dinesty Dumpling House, so you can enjoy some dim sum while sipping your bubble tea! 🥟😝 We can’t wait to go back and explore more of their menu!

Read moreHonestly this is probably the worst bubble tea store I have been to hands down.
This newly opened in the restaurant (Dinesty) serving both walk ins for bubble tea and customers eating at Dinesty.
Our dinner booking at Dinesty was at 6PM. We immediately ordered (6:10PM) seeing the line and had dinner. Checked in throughout dinner and was told it would take an hour. AN HOUR. Who needs an hour to make bubble tea?! But as we were eating dinner we agreed to wait anyways.
However by the time we finished dinner at 7:45PM. We were still waiting for the bubble tea. It was almost TWO HOURS since we put the order in. By then the lines from walk in were already gone but our drinks were no where to be seen. We asked them to cancel the order but were told they were making our drinks so we waited another 10 mins. However during this time they were still making drinks from online orders coming through. NOT sure why they were doing that when they clearly had orders from the restaurant patrons from two hours ago.
Anyways we finally got our drinks: mango pomelo slush and jasmine green milk tea. The mango pomelo slush was not slushy at all and barely had any mango. The jasmine green milk tea was also not as fragrant/strong tea taste as other bubble tea stores in town.
So not only do you wait for hours for your bubble tea, you also get mediocre bubble tea. Would never recommend this place to any family or friends and would avoid...
