Great sushi spot in Richmond if you're willing to spend a few extra bucks!
We ordered the following for two: uni cream udon volcano scallop roll red n blue roll hamachi sashimi (6 piece) aburi sushi combo (2 orders) ube puree ice cream (2 orders) x1 beer for myself
Everything tasted great and the quantity was just enough for 2 people. The only item I wasn't a huge fan of was the uni cream udon, to me it just tasted like mac n cheese sauce on udon noodles...but it wasn't too bad.
My favorite was the Red n Blue roll. It was fresh and delicious! 😋 I also enjoyed the ice cream dessert with the ube noodles thing on top of (matcha flavoured?) ice cream.
Service was good as well. We got seats as soon as we walked in on a Friday night. Surprisingly this place wasn't busy on a Friday night, perhaps it was the price of their menu, but either way it worked out for us! Servers were attentive and friendly.
Only con would be the location. Parking here is brutal during dinner time on weekends since it's located in a small lot.
Overall I would recommend this place if you want some great quality sushi and other Japanese food and don't mind spending a little more...ok maybe a lot more 😂.
(full disclosure: we spent about $240...
Read morePRETENTIOUS AND SILLY RESTAUARANT. This restaurant unapolgetically boasts "no tempura, no rolls', with a very unprofesssional hand written note made with a sharpie pen. Further, prior to being seated, you are again reminded, "no tempura, no rolls" by the waitress prior to seating. Ok.. I guess restaurant that take itself pretty seriously.
When asked about the waitress about their sashimi...she did not have the knowledge or intelligence to match the snobbery. She in fact, barely knew the difference between farmed and wild. She needed to check if the salmon came from Norway (always farmed) or Alaska (not supportive or respectful of local fisherpeople!) . She seemed to not know or care about the difference.
To management, if you want patrons to take you or your policies seriously, at least educate your staff what you are serving.
Also, if you want to be considered high- end, then you should consider removing the cheap air conditioners and do something about the flies everywhere.
This place needs to go. I hope restaurant gets...
Read moreIm so flabbergasted by the service. There were only two table, including mine. The waitress came with mouth full of food, which I can understand if she needs to go on break or if the restaurant was full; but it wasnt. Took our order, but got confused with the menu itself so didnt take one of our orders ( i mean, honestly, i would too cz the menu doesnt even have any description of whats in the roll. You just have to guess from the photo they provided. ) ended up a blessing in disguise because I kid you not it took them 20 minutes to make one set of roll, God knows how long it would take if the restaurant was actually busy. Then when we were eating, one of the waitress goes around the restaurant to swing around her arms back and forth. Like i get the business is slow but have some professionalism or pretend to do something. The whole service made me lose my appetite. But at least the koi lamps were...
