Deer Garden Signatures — Restaurant in Richmond

We always love Deer Garden at Fraser so we tried their Richmond location. Extremely bad service atmosphere at the moment of seating. Restaurant wasn't crowded, we asked if we could sit at the booth because we saw another 2 people seating at the corner booth, but lady server get annoyed/offensive at our request and clearly making faces at us for asking. 2-3 servers kept standing across our table talking and laughing, sometimes looking at our food. Very awkward! Menu to choose has horrible design and will confused you of which to choose, I accidentally chosen Scechuan soup instead of Laksa, and lady server just smirk at my mistake and doesn't offer empathy servicing. At payment, we want to pay by debit but cashier person said can only done 1 cash and 1 debit, first time in my life ever heard this. What if 2 separate persons come in, do they ask one of them cash and the other ok for debit payment? Other location in Vancouver doesn't do such thing. Never come back again, Fraser location is smaller but much better at service than here. Would give 0 star...

went here last week with a friend at 7:40pm and we were asked how many after waiting to be seated. after we answered, the man who asked turned around for a few seconds and said to us “sorry we are closed. we are closed”. very confused, we didn’t question it and just left. yesterday i foolishly gave them another chance with 2 of my friends and the service was still awful. the servers had attitude and were extremely impatient while we asked questions about the menu, looking at us like we’re stupid. the food was not tasty, the broth of my soup was salty and the beef brisket was chewier than tire rubber. the server handed us the bill while we were still eating, and right after we paid, had the audacity to confront us for the amount we tipped, and asked if anything was wrong with the service. so to answer that question, yes. there was quite a bit wrong with the service. especially the sense of entitlement to be tipped a certain amount after such a poor performance. the food may have been disappointing but i have never felt so unwelcome in a...

I've been to this restaurant many times and have enjoyed the food and prices here. The service of course is mediocre... but I've never experienced something like I have today. Towards the end of my meal I was sharing with my sister, I discovered a WORM IN MY SOUP. Yes, dead serious... a worm. I brought it to the attention of the server and she looked at it, unphased, and said it happens all the time because of their vegetables. WHO DOES NOT CLEAN THEIR VEGGIES?! Anyways, they offered to take the bowl of soup off our bill... but refused to compensate our drinks. "It simply cannot be done" said one of the other servers as he shoved the bill in our face. To be honest we refused to pay this and didn't get our drinks. Please stay away. If a restaurant cannot simply wash their vegetables, and their customers find worms in their food, they shouldn't be open...
